We loved it and needed to hear it. When we have to do better at something it is important we hear from the posters. Here's a couple of things I want to clear up on the issues raised.....
- We were not trying to "bully" anyone or come across as arrogant in any way. Not even close. We have been getting a lot of feedback that posters are sick and tired of reading about site wars and/or two people in a heated personal debate that carries over into multiple threads. We do want to do something for these people who are tired of it and our posts were directed towards them mainly. In our quest to address the concerns some raised it may have read differently to others. We were not trying to threaten anyone, never happen in a million years. Our posters are the lifeblood of a forum. Sounds like we may have irritated some good folks who never in a million years would have to worry about being banned. We apologize if the wrong message was sent out.
- Bannings are taken very seriously. We have probably screwed up a few, we aren't too proud to deny that. That's why when we get feedback like this we take it very seriously. When a customer takes it upon themselves to post on something that shows they care, so in that regard we really appreciate all the comments. At no time EVER will we look to ban someone if we do not feel it's best for this site. The mods that are here have thick skin and can handle anything that is required. Our concern is when we hear from 3rd parties who plead with us to try and clean up some of this garbage. I knew yesterday we would get some powerful responses but we did not shy away from doing it because it was important to hear from others. What everyone says to us is important, even when it's a differing opinion. Especially when it's a differing opinion.
- I want to reassure everyone we will only ban as a last resort. In most cases we feel that has been done though there are a couple we are looking into. We will warn them, try to contact them off the forum, and make other efforts to keep them here if possible. Only if they refuse to work with us or make it known they dont want to be here will we take the step of banning people. It should be a last resort and it will be. I want to stress once more, it has nothing to do with anyone's opinion but everything to do with if they respect the other people at this forum while giving it. Be a pretty boring place if we all saw things the same way.
I invite anyone recently banned who wants to contribute and rejoin to write me if they are interested in posting here. If they feel it was done poorly and they do not want to return I am sorry to hear that but we certainly understand. I am impressed with the new owners commitment to make this place as user friendly as they can. If we make a mistake along the way which is bound to happen it will be an error made in the pursuit of improving the site, not one to bully or throw our weight around. Most of you know us better than that, we enjoy our jobs here a great deal and we enjoy the people. Takes all kind to make a world. Thanks for listening.....
