What an extremely unscientific and illogical thing to do. So it didn't matter to you at all that about 70% of bettors overall were on TT? By your line of thinking Ole Miss made much more sense because, in actuality, everyone is on TT.

No, that is correct info. The "Public" was about 70% on Texas Tech. The majority of the public was on Tech at about every book.

You need to understand this:

These forums, especially here at the Rx, ain't public. You got some plays/info and misinterpreted it as public. A lot of sharp bettors here and FAR from public preception. What you did do is get a tally on the informed and smarter than average bettors. Bettors who bother to posts and read forums, get information. These aren't uninformed or Public bettors.

The Public don't do forums they just do bets.

Lol exactly.

10 people on a forum don't represent a large enough sample to have any significance on where the money is going. You need a large sample (thousands and thousands) to determine where the money is going. For some reason though people sway their decisions based on 'too many on th forum' AKA a handful of guys who prob have $20 on the game.

TT was getting 70+% of all public money. gratz to MISS BACKERS :toast:

I mostly agree with this, WE ARE THE PUBLIC, just a smaller (and I'd like to think a mostly SHARPER sampling of it), what you said about most gamblers and posting in a forum, well you're absolutely right. But when its all said and done, if you place a wager, you're the public. Period.

True, I mean, we all our "public" but people who post here and take time to actually follow things are sharper than Joe Blow Public. That's a big difference IMO and you can get a completely different answer to the same questions from the two groups.

Oh, congrats to Ole Miss Backers. Looks like those 132 Ole Miss bettors on those forums knew a little something.... :toast:

You got it man-- I think there is a huge difference between myself, who researches games, checks out what other sharp cappers are on, and looking at strength of schedule etc etc than .. well someone like my Dad (who surprisingly does well with his gut) will just be like "have you seen that team? No way, blah blah wins that shit".

And thanks :) Hopefully TT does score two unanswered TDs and ruin the fun.

a good place to get the public likes and dislikes is on ESPN........just watch the bottom of the screen where it shows how the public voted on each bowl game.........in this case the public voted for Texas Tech by a percentage of .914............other games today........ECU by .814.......and Alabama by .820

Geek, I think you just put the light bulb in my head.

I think that was the main problem. I thought majority of the posters are public with a few sharps in here. Kind of makes sense.
This could also make sense on fading majority of touts also.

I hate to tell you this, but the public wins every once in a while or nobody would gamble.
