They've only scored less than 30 once, and that was when they scored 28 against Oak St.

They scored less than 40 only three other times, 33, 35, and 38.

The number being set at 30 seems a little weird.
Is Ohio States D really that good. What am I missing here? Only thing I can think of is maybe they come out slow due to the long layoff, or maybe that Ohio State won't force them to score into the 30's to win.

Thoughts?

My thoughts to your Q?

Ohio State allowed an avg. of 13 points per game, seventh in the nation. They gave up more than 21 points once this year in their 35-3 trouncing by Southern California

Texas ranks ninth in total offense by gaining 476.4 YPG. They played without a competent rushing game & the bulk of their offense was due to the passing accuracy of their QB Colt McCoy who completed 77% of his passes for 3,445 yards, and throwing an avg. of 4 ½ touchdowns to every one interception.

Ohio State ranks 11th in pass efficiency defense with a 100.17 rating. And they led the Big Ten by giving up only 164.3 YPG through the air.

If Ohio State can maintain their pass efficency defense vs Texas pass offense. Then the Texas team total being set @ 30pts. makes sense.

That seems like alot of thought . Its a toss up Remember this is the same Ohio State team that LSU shit all over last year in the sugar bowl. Ohio St. sucks in big games. buy it to 7 and put the profits in your account

The game line is 8.5
The total is 51.5

Do the math.
DSI is saying if Texas is favored by 8.5 and the total is 51.5 then they should win 30-21.

Texas TT line of 30 is razor sharp and spot on.

I will admit that I am a big Buckeye homer, but where do you get that OSU sucks in big games? They have been drilled by Florida in a title game, and USC hammered them without their best player. Sure, they lost to an LSU team last year when the Bucks were not supposed to even be in that position. Tressel is 3-2 in BCS games and OSU is 4-2 overall. Just 2 years ago people were calling Tressell the best big game coach in the country. I understand that the Big Ten has been terrible and the Bucks have not played well the last two years. I just want to know why Oklahoma gets a pass for being terrible but OSU gets drilled?

Last 6 years.....

2007 LSU 38 OSU 24 (Title Game)
2006 Florida 41 OSU 14 (Title Game)
2005 OSU 34 ND 20 (Fiesta Bowl)
2004 OSU 33 Oklahoma State 7 (Alamo Bowl)
2003 OSU 35 Kansas St. 28 (Fiesta Bowl)
2002 OSU 31 Miami 24 (Title Game)

2007 WVU 48 OU 28 (Fiesta Bowl)
2006 Boise St. 43 OU 42 (Fiesta Bowl)
2005 OU 17 Oregon 14 (Holiday Bowl)
2004 USC 55 OU 19 (Title Game)
2003 LSU 21 OU 14 (Title Game)
2002 OU 34 Wash. St (Rose Bowl)

Is there a difference?

I didn't say it wasn't correct relative to the overall line, I'm wondering if it's going to go Over due to Texas scoring more than 30 all year.

Did I say Vegas (or anyone) TOLD me anything?
I simply stated a few facts about the points Texas has scored this year, and then asked if Ohio's D was really that good, since I have not seen them play much this year.
Read closer next time.
