The Big 10 has been the best conference in these bowls. The SEC has been terrible IMO compared to expectations. The Big 12 has been hit and miss and the PAC 10 below average.

I agree Sports. The balance of power cycles between the Big 10, Big 12, SEC, and ACC. Let's just hope the Pitt/Utah game can match these last 2 great games!

Thanks Sports, you too! Happy New Year, my friend. But I hate to say this, I took Pitt/Utah under 67.5! lol Any chance you have a lower total and we can middle then both win?

I have over 64.5! 3 point middle isn't that bad ;).

One of us will win tonight...I've had a good day in totals (too bad I didn't post any of them...easy to say that when they're not posted I guess).

Good luck.

I'm more of an under guy then over. I did have Lou/Boise St. over last night. But 90% of the time I go after the under.

Here's to a middle tonight! :drink:

Correct you are Brutus. Texas is at The 'Shoe Sept. 9th next year then at Texas in '06. Also Miami and USC both come on for 2 game series in the next 6 years. Ohio State is 27-3-1 lifetime vs the Big 12. They've won 13 straight over the Big 12. They last lost to the OU in 1977. That's domination.

I totally respect the Big 10 and agree they have been more consistent. I live in Iowa and am surrounded by Big 10 fans and any chance I get I take advantage of to rub something in. I was just trying to make some conference conversation. Michigan is a very good team as is Iowa. I dont feel Iowa could hang with the likes of OU, Texas, Auburn, USC and so on. I do think alot higher of Ohio St after they pounded Okie St. However I would have to disagree after those 3 teams. Wisky would be next in my mind alothough they were very good and bad at times. I dont think much of anyone after that, especially Minny as they let down after looking so dominant. Purdue sucked the second half and embarassed themselves against ASU. And then a bunch of middle of the pack teams. I think the Big 12 South may be the toughest mini-conf, but I couldnt say Big 12 is the best due to the North, Baylor, and the way Okie St. and aTm played. However Texas Tech showed me something I didnt think they had in them. I can see arguments from the Big 10 and SEC and that is it. I think the Pac 10 is awful and the ACC has too many bad teams and the good ones werent as dominant this year. ny other conf. is out of the question. JMO

DO NOT mention that game - for that is a true sore spot for me.

that was the 1984 Freedom Bowl played at Anaheim Stadium

my cal state fullerton titans were 11-1 losing only to UNLV for the (then) PCAA (now Big West) title. we all knew UNLV (led by Randall Cunningham) had broken rules under Harvey Hyde and would eventually be caught - and they were - we later won that game - but not in time to play in the (then) Cal Bowl).

anyway, Iowa committed to play in the 1st ever "Freedom Bowl". the other remaining spot was up in the air. EVERYONE in the area pressed as hard as they could to get Fullerton in the game. we had a GREAT team - led by Damon Allen - the greatest CFL QB ever. the freedom bowl was deluged with calls from people wanting fullerton in the game.

but the bowl chairman was Tom Starr - a Texass grad - who naturally chose his alma mater to play in the game instead of us at fullerton. he made up some B.S. excuses - tripping over his lies so many times it got to be hysterical. later it was also revealed Iowa HC Hayden Frye KNEW playing a "rinky-dink" school like fullerton was a "no-win" situation so he told the Freedom Bowl if Fullerton was chosen as their opponent - they would drop out of the game and NOT play in it. The bowl caved in to Frye instead of telling him to go "F" himself and putting fullerton and texas in the game. and as asinine as this might sound - i am 100% CERTAIN FULLERTON would have won that game and NO ONE will ever talk me out of it. we were THAT good and texass wasnt as seen by the 55-17 score of the game.

the day of the game it rained so hard Noah was seen putting 2 of every species in an Ark. the game drew 24,000 in a 60,000+ seat stadium. this put the freedom bowl in a hole they never recovered from and thankfully the bowl ceased to exist down the line.

so in my mind - this game NEVER should have been played between these 2 - it should have been Fullerton vs. Iowa/Texas

LOL Kodiak. That's a lot of gambling wisdom built up over that time. I bet though. I'd love to have that! Wasn' that Kirk Gibson with Detriot and Stever Garvey with the Padres?

LOL...Michigan St....ouch...I'm still bitter with those sob's. Cooper and '98 I believe. He gets one of his big 3 wins vs Michigan and we choke vs MSU. They said he was preparing for Michigan the entire week of the MSU game. Go figure. What hurts is they said OSU would have been a 10-13 pt favorite over Tenn for the title game that year. We had to settle for beating Texas AM in the cotton Bowl that year with Boston, Katzenmoyer, etc.

I knew we were in trouble the 2nd half....the punt when we were up 24-13 I believe and Boston muffed it and MSU recovered it at the OSU 30 or so.

TD Pitt....this game is Hell to watch after LSU/Iowa and Mich/Texas. My gf can't get home fast enough from work! lol I do have the under at least.
