Officials have confirmed that two gunmen were involved, with one attacker was captured while the other was reportedly wounded.
'The terrorists who carried out the attack... are cousins from the Hebron district,' police spokeswoman Luba Samri said in a statement.
Photographs from the scene have reportedly revealed the gunmen may have used homemade machine guns, known as a Carl Gustav gun.
Israeli police are understood to be looking for a third suspect, who is believed to have fled the scene.
Police said the wounded included those sitting at a coffee shop in the complex. The assailants' weapons had been retrieved by officers, they said.

.

The incident occurred in an area of trendy cafes and restaurants very close to the central military headquarters and Defence Ministry compound.
The attack was the first following in lull after almost daily street attacks by Palestinians against Israelis which began in October and lasted several months.
Spokeswoman Luba Samri said shooting was reported in two locations close to the popular open-air Sharona market.
Another spokeswoman, Meirav Lapidot, said initial reports showed there were 'at least two terrorists'. She said both were 'neutralised', which can mean either killed or detained.

Hospital staff have been trying to save the lives of the wounded following the deadly attack in the city

Ms Samri said one of the attackers is being treated in hospital.
Meital Sassi told Channel 10 TV she was out with her family celebrating her son's birthday when she heard shots and 'immediately understood it was a terror attack'.
'We ran like lightning with the baby and the stroller ... I yelled at people who didn't understand what was happening to run,' she said.
The United States called it a 'cowardly' attack, while UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East peace process, Nickolay Mladenov, immediately condemned it.
'All must reject violence and say no to terror,' he said in a statement.
'Our prayers are with the families of those killed. I am also shocked to see Hamas welcome the terror attack. Leaders must stand against violence and the incitement that fuels it, not condone it.'
A medic with United Hatzalah rescuers, in an account relayed by the rescue service, said: 'When I arrived at the scene I saw two young people who were suffering from gunshot wounds outside of a restaurant at the Sarona centre.'
'We treated them, as well as numerous other individuals who were suffering from shock.'
The nationalities and other details of the victims were not yet known.
A spokesman for Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai quoted him as saying 'we will not be able to put a policeman on every street corner'.
'The lone assailant can appear from any corner,' he said. 'That is the reality with which we have to live.'
The city however said in a statement it was increasing security at schools and municipal buildings.
Violence since October has killed at least 207 Palestinians, 28 Israelis, two Americans, an Eritrean and a Sudanese.
Most of the Palestinians killed were carrying out knife, gun or car-ramming attacks, according to Israeli authorities.
Others were killed in clashes or by Israeli air strikes in the Gaza Strip.
The violence has steadily declined in recent weeks, though attacks have continued to occur.
Shooting attacks such as the one that occurred Wednesday night have been rare, though Tel Aviv has seen two other major incidents in recent months.

In response to the Wednesday night's attack in Tel Aviv's Sarona market that left four people dead and 16 wounded, security forces carried out a number of arrests during raids in the West Bank village of Yata overnight..

The IDF has blockaded the village and only humanitarian movements in and out of the village will be permitted, the IDF Spokesman Unit said on Thursday morning.

Additionally, IDF units together with the Border Police and Civil Administration mapped out a home of one of the terrorist gunmen in the village of Yata, near Hebron overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.

In response to the attack, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Maj.-Gen. Yoav Mordechai, cancelled the easing of some security restrictions that were in place for the Muslim month of Ramadan.

After an evaluation held by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, Mordechai ordered the freezing of 204 entrance permits for relatives of the attackers.

Additionally, 83,000 permits for Palestinians in the West Bank to visit family members in Gaza have been revoked, and all easing of security measures for Gaza Strip residents during Ramadan, particularly access to Temple Mount prayers, have been canceled.[/FONT]

In response to Wednesday night's terror attack at Tel Aviv's Sarona market that left four people dead and 16 others wounded, Transportation Minister and Security Council member Yisrael Katz said in an interview on Thursday morning that the attack mandates a harsh and serious Israeli response

"Yata, the village from which the terrorists came, needs to undergo an operation to root out terror," Katz remarked, "The village needs to be reminded of its history, which already has experience with terrorism."

The minister also suggested that the village be closed for a sustained period, commenting that it is impossible to separate the terrorists from their surroundings.

Additionally in the interview with Army Radio, Katz addressed the proposed law that would enable Israel to expel the families of terrorists to Gaza or to Syria, "I call on the legal system to approve this legislation in order to strengthen the policy of deterrence."

"If the terrorists knew that their families would be expelled because of their actions, they would think twice before acting."

The minister added that Hamas is lauding the terror and said that as the leaders of the Palestinian Authority continue to support these acts of terror, more Jews are dying.

Following the deadly terrorist shooting the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Maj.-Gen.

Additionally, 83,000 permits for Palestinians in the West Bank to visit family members in Gaza have been revoked, and all easing of security measures for Gaza Strip residents during Ramadan, particularly access to Temple Mount prayers, have been canceled.

The military responded to Wednesday night's terror attack swiftly.

IDF units together with the Border Police and Civil Administration mapped out a home of one of the terrorist gunmen in the village of Yata, near Hebron overnight between Wednesday and Thursday. The home has been slated for demolition following the deadly shooting attack that claimed the lives of four Israeli civilians in Sarona Market, Tel Aviv.

In January, Yata was the flashpoint for terror when a 13-year-old Palestinian terrorist was killed after attempting to stab a security guard.

When your enemy is coming to kill you at dawn arise earlier and kill him first ~ Babylonian Talmud
But instead they wait for innocents to be slaughtered. Then they react. Then the world media and UN blame Israel.
Rinse. Repeat.

Why wait for people to be killed? Now tell them you're coming so they can bus children to the front of town, and booby-trap houses like Jenin? Untie your Fucking hands Israel (he said since the dawn of the fucking internet)!

the religion of peace-strikes again

Called an Islamophobe lately? Ask your accuser to name ONE Islamic country where:

People of another religion are allowed to freely practice their faith without oppression.

Gays are not killed or oppressed.

Women are given equal rights.

Theocratic govt's will always breed murder and oppression.

And that's regardless of whether or not the majority of the world's Muslims are kind and decent people. IT DOESN'T MATTER ANYMORE!!!

Hillary will put less pressure on Israel than Obama did. Bill should keep her from making that misstep. She has too much other shit to contend with. Trump? He might be all over the place and change MEast policies every Tuesday.
