Well, just might happen. This season's September 10th game between Tennessee and
Virginia Tech will be played at Bristol Motor Speedway which can seat 150,000 for NASCAR
racing and up to 160,000 for a football game. Bristol is located 111 east of Knoxville and
125 miles west of Blacksburg. The city of Bristol is actually split by the TN-VA state line.

The attendance record for college football is 115,109 set by Notre Dame visiting Michigan.
With the Vols and the Hokies predicted to have strong teams this season...the record will
surely fall.

Should be one hell of a 'SHOW'.

This game will no doubt break the record of 115K. It's going to be interesting and I bet it's a shit-show in the parking lot/tailgate areas! My uncle, a Tennessee fan, is going and has a camper.....planning to be there 3 nights!

They are playing a game there the following week as well (two smaller teams, can't recall who). It's a great idea and great marketing by the speedway.

Yeah Coach, I have spend three days at Bristol for NASCAR in a motor home and it
was fun and wild to say the least.

Tennessee will be favored by 7-10 points but VT should have one of their better teams
in the past few years. Big payoff for both schools!

Wow !!!!! I wonder if the officials will use checkered-flags ?

Mack, for an old dude...you come up with some pretty good ones. No telling how far they will go to
promote this thing. Tennessee may ware checkered jerseys like their home field zones. If all goes
well with this one, I can see a Tennessee/Alabama game scheduled in the future. Bama travels a hell
of a lot better than Virginia Tech.

If they were smart promoters they would have a NASCAR race going on at the same time. A hillbilly's dream date...

No, if they were smart, they might invite Oklahoma and Oklahoma State then have a goat fucken contest on the side.

Never thought of it, but Bristol would be a bad ass football venue. Been to 2 races there and its a cool place.

In my opinion, it's the best track to watch NASCAR racing. Half mile track and they fly with the high banking.
Action everywhere.

Anyone heard anything about how they are going to lay a field for this game? A few years back, I went to a
race where they covered the track with dirt. The super late models were faster on dirt than the NASCAR guys.
There were over 60,000 fans for the three day dirt event.
