I actually think Alaskans may have been voting to prevent a filibuster proof Senate, I know I would.

Stevens can be expelled and/or resign now, and they can have a special election to replace him. Couldn't change the ticket in the 12th hour.

House seats were less than what they were predicting...seems like the argument resonated with some middle of the roaders...at least down ballot.

If Palin somehow wants to position herself for a prez run the senate would be the place to do it and show that she is capable. She's not so it won't work, but that would be the way.
