After a missile blew up a plane that caused the death of 298 innocent people in a war zone and the a rocket being within a mile of Israel's airport, the FAA decides to stop flights to Israel and Ted Cruz is blaming Obama for being anti-Israel. What if a plane was shot down in that war zone, you can guarantee Ted Cruz would be the first to blame Obama for killing all the passengers on the plane. This is like real life psycho shit. And this is not Dave or Russ saying this, this is someone that is an actual potential Republican nominee for President. Southern Republicans are going to destroy this country.

Couldn't agree more. Ted Cruz is a vile, soul-less being. This was an act done for valid safety reasons for people flying. No way to know if political motives were involved in shutting down US flights to Israel. But we do know the last thing any rational human being would want to see is another plane shot out of the sky. One thing we can surmise is Israeli safety experts shared some critical info with FAA experts and convinced them flight travel to Israel is safe. Ben Gurion airport and El Al air the safest airline and airport in the world. For Israel to survive they have to be. Israeli technology for security is the best in the world. We are using some of it now. It's only a matter of time before everyone is using it.

Israel has not previously used body scanners in its airports, and critics have argued that this calls into question the technology’s effectiveness. Today’s announcement is not only a validation for Tek84’s product, but for the use of body scanners in general. I tend to agree with you. While I agree with Scott L that Ben Gurion is probably the safest airport on the planet, I am confident in saying that if a flight of US origin had been shot down on approach to Ben Gurion Ted Cruz would have been the first to blame the Obama administration. The iron dome costs a fortune to use. When the army determines a rocket will fall in an unpopulated area they let it hit. When a threat is perceived they take action. There are layers of security around that airport that you cannot even begin to know. It's a life or death thing. Experts from the FAA met with those who secure the airport and were granted access to these secrets. So the ban was lifted.
Akphi we live in dangerous times. It's not a stretch to say communication between gov't agencies and the president is constant, especially with planes being shot out of the sky. Some blame lack of coordination between the FBI and CIA as a reason for failure to prevent 9/11.
