Hey guys, I'm not a handicapper, but i follow a lot of the guys on here. I'm a Virginia fan, and was at the game this past weekend against William and Mary, and it was a fucking disgrace to say the least. UVA looked like a high school team out there, and a bad one. Can any of you offer any insight into why the line seems so line for the game against TCU this weekend? TCU -11. Is there any reason not to hammer TCU? Thanks

Because Al Groh is a veteran coach who does not tolerate sub standard performances. Be advised.

Keep in mind that at least Virginia has a game under their belts. TCU has yet to play, and are traveling cross country and giving double digits. My feeling is TCU will probably cover, but I still think it's a little chancy because of their week late start and the losses that TCU took on defense. I'm going to play a wait and see with both of these teams.

Maybe, but not every game is substandard. His teams are very inconsistent, much like Tommy Bowden's were. He'll lose as a favorite and win as a dog. If you're TCU, can you really take these guys seriously after that last game? The UVA defense is pretty good, so TCU is not a lock.

From what I've heard, Virginia lost the game convincingly against Bill & Mary. They are really having QB problems. And even used their CB Hall to QB the game. But it didn't work out. I read where Hall may start this week. But it also should be noted that Virginia fumbled the ball 4 times and threw three interceptions in that game. Groh has a bad team and he's on a very hot seat. I doubt seriously if he'll be there next year.

He's like Bowden was at Clemson. He's won just enough games to keep him afloat. But with this tough early schedule of having to play TCU, Southern Miss and North Carolina, I think they'll be 0-4 right out of the gate. And they won't be good enough to halfway recover this year like they did last season. This could even be one of those midseason resignations if things get too rough.

True. TCU's defense from what I hear is still very stout with young talent. Also TCU qb Dalton looks to be good to go. Yea it's a risky play because TCU didn't play week 1, but this team knows how to take care of business on the road against weak teams.

I've never been a fan of Al Groh, think he's a stiff. But I do believe UVA will cover here. limit the turnovers and play some defense and being at home will be enough IMO. TCU will prolly get the W but closer than most are thinking. GL

TCU might as well be a BCS conference school. BYU, TCU, Air Force and Boise State are better than Syracuse or Indiana.

I agree. Look what Cinn did with one returning starter on defense. TCU knows they truly have a chance to be a BCS buster and they have a coach who will keep the focused and motivated. Dalton fits this situation perfectly as he has been there and done that before. Good situation for TCU.

Russ...You might be right about this game. I would like to take a peek at TCU first. But I couldn't blame anyone for taking TCU in this spot considering how disorganized UVA looks right now at QB.

I'm on TCU here at -10.5. This does seem low....and I agree w/ GS on the reasons why (first game for TCU and cross-country travel/road game). I don't think it will matter....
