Tampa Bay wins tonight straight up. If you want the simple answers: Tampa is the better team Period! and Defense wins championships. i.e. NFC south championships.

In all seriousness the Tampa defense will handle the slightly over-rated Carolina offense. If you watched the GB Carolina game, or the last 4 weeks of Carolina led by Jake Delhomme you will see they really aren't that great. Tampa will contain Steve Smith better than almost any team Carolina has faced and their front line will contain DeAngelo Williams enough to be the difference in this game. Tampa's D plays as a true team and flies to the ball on every play.

On the flip side Tampa has a pretty decent offense. The level of how much they come to play will determine if this is a three point Tampa win or a 14 point Tampa win.

Don't forget the 27-3 bashing Tampa put on Carolina in week 6. I understand that Carolina plays better at home and Tampa plays worse on the road so I am not necessarily expecting a 27-3 game but like I said the best team will win here tonight. I predict 24-21 Tampa or 21-17 Tampa which are both too close to pick the over under. I would lean under on this game but it is Monday night and it is a big game which factors toward the over. I would recommend not playing the over under and just betting on Tampa.

BOL whatever side you are on. Lets cash this biatch :toast:

I'm in agreement here. I'll take the points, but I think Tampa is the better team, showed it last time they faced each other, and they will do very well tonight. That defense can set the tone and Delhome is too inconsistant for me and can shit the bed on occasion.

Good Luck but I'm with you and take TB ML & +3 tonight. :money8:

Loved Carolina a few days ago but after researching the game a little more, I'm leaning TB. They are the better all around team and if they win, they basically wrap up the division (if they can win 2 of their last 3 - they play Atlanta, SD, and Oakland).

Right on! I'm going to add more on this play prior to kick. Just waiting to see if it will move to +3.5, if not I'll probably just dump it on the money line. I am very confident in this game either way.

Carolina is the play here is a quick write up as I am not very good at paragraphs.

Carolina gives up as many pass yards as they throw for on offense, however they have only allowed 3 passing tds and garcia is no big yardage qb so I give the edge to Carolina as far as passing the ball.

Delhomme vs. Garcia. Who do you like?

Carolina gives up 400 yards less on the ground then they rush for on offense, while Tampa gives up 200 more yards then they rush for. Carolina has 8 rushing tds, Tampa has 1.

D.Williams and J. Stewart vs. Dunn and Caddy. Who do you like?

Carolina has a +85 point differential while Tampa is a meer +17

All stats are Carolina at home and Tampa on the road.

I will be on Carolina -3 big. BOL for whichever side you are on and lets get the money!

Yes, they beat Carolina earlier. Do you really think they can do it again and in Carolina? I don't think so. I agree with you on one thing though, that it should be a close game. A good game. Either team can win it. I'm on Carolina but I see nothing wrong with your reasoning either. It is quite a toss up tonight.

Defense does not win championship. Points win games, championships, etc...When you look up at the score board it says 20-17, 7-10, etc...not 2 ints, 3 sacks - 4 tackles.

Good luck with your pick but sick of hearing defense wins championship. Its points. Points.

Delhomme vs Garcia. I pick Garcia. Statistically Garcia is a higher rated QB and has a better TD to pick ratio. This battle favors Tampa but that's not what this game is about.

The NFL is all about momentum and trends and Delhomme and the Carolina offense has not been consistent as of late. Seriously if you watched the Packer Carolina you would see it. The Tampa defense is what will decide this game. They are playing much better than the Carolina Offense. Barber will shut down Steve Smith and they will make the like 20th ranked QB look like one tonght.

What are you smoking? So you're saying that the defense didn't win it for Baltimore last night?

Now I'm leaning Carolina again. When Carolina played Atlanta at home, they won 24-9. Atlanta turned around and got payback at home 45-28. This looks like the exact same situation. It's difficult for any team in the NFL to win 2 games against the same team in a season (excluding the Lions, Chiefs, Bengals and Raiders, who can easily be beaten twice in the same season).

Well that is true but with any trend like that with teams not being able to beat division rivals twice, remember that is just a trend. You still have to look at the two teams. No doubt this is a close game and even you if thought it would be a toss up I would rather have +3 than -3 in a coin flip.

Like I said above though I don't think it's a coin flip Tampa is the better team.

Also if you need more help check out C-lo on here, he has a thread and is picking Tampa too. He has been very good the last several weeks. Just makes me feel even better about this pick.
