I've watched Lousiville play almost every game (and I've been wrong betting them against Kentucky and then betting against them vs K-State) and I've also been wrong on UConn (taking them against Baylor) so I guess I'm due??? :think2:

But again watching each teams game I know Louisville I has one of the best run defenses in the nation (currently ranked #2 against the run). They completely shut down Kentucky's offense (remember Kentucky had 2 scores by their defense) and did the same to K-State running game as well (The final score wasn't anywhere near as close as the final score of 38-29). Louisville isn't as good against the pass, but UConn simply can't throw the ball, their QB isn't very mobile there isn't much that scares me about Uconn. Yes Brown their RB is good but Louisville will have a ton of people in the box forcing them to throw.

Cantwell has gotten better each week and really is starting to look like an NFL caliber QB. He is better than Baylors QB and he has a field day against the "stout" UConn D. Louisville has big/fast WR's that should have a bunch of success or at least plenty to easily outscore Conn.

Again, after breaking down and watching both teams play live twice, I really feel Louisville has an advantage at almost every position, so to get a home team that I feel is a much better team and only lay 3 to 3 1/2 seems like a gift. UConn getting too much respect for beating a bad, BAD Virginia (which by the way, Duke is my other highly ranked pick for this week) and winning a game they probably didn't deserve to win against Baylor.

I also believe this is a much bigger game for the Cardinals to keep their season rolling. I see something like a 31-17 Louisville win and an easy win at that.

the uconn qb is VERY moblie. more of a threat running than passing careful.

agree over all with the rest. Go Lou!

I am minutes away from UCONN here, seen every game, Lorenzson is not a deep pass threat, but in the flats he's dangerous.
Also a very good running QB.
UCONN wins this 24-14.

I had heard he was mobile but the times I've seen him run, he seems very slow and runs akwardly, doesn't hit the holes right, etc. Just doesn't scare me on his feet.

Either way, Louisville is pretty fast on defense so I don't see that being a problem.

agree with most of what you wrote but.........the QB for UCONN is very mobile......other thing is Cantwell is a better QB than Griffin from Baylor but what Griffin did to UConn was use his feet to move the ball not his arm and Cantwell cant run......he is a pocket passer which will make it easier for UCONN because they will know where he is at all times......I was on Kentucky when they play LOU and I was on LOU when they played KST so I think I have a pretty good feel for what LOU is capable of and this game IMO will be close....both defenses present problems for the other team.....Anyway, I have liked UCONN all week but I do not like what the line is doing so I will probably just pass.....

What irked me the most was that slot wr #1 who TORCHED Uconn D like it was a JV team. They always put a LB on him and he got opened for easy yards, I think he got like 150 yards catching and 2 tds ALONE. Right now if you asked me take a pick on anything for this game, I'm leaning UNDER because I can see a running game from both sides like last year's game. But like Lewis there are soooo many better games on Saturday to choose from so I might just pass.

Looking at his stats, maybe he is more mobile than I've seen or am giving him credit for. But again, even with a mobile QB Louisville has the defense and speed to keep him under wraps. 1 TD and 6 INTS throwing isn't something that worries me or I doube worries Louisville so they will be stacked in the box.

Baylors QB is mobile but he has WR's WIDE OPEN and their DB's weren't within 10 yards. I think Cantwell again is a much more accurate passer and has much better WR's so I think they will have success throwing the ball. And their freshman RB is really good to so I think UConn will have to worry about both aspects.

Again, I've been wrong many, MANY times before so it could happen again but I just don't see it when you size up both teams.

UConn is a better team than Louisville and it will show tonight. Louisville "amazing" run defense is a fraud. They haven't played anybody that can run the ball that well yet. KSU can't run against anybody and hardly ever tries. UConn will be able to move the ball on the ground, and when need be they'll make the open throws. Their QB IS mobile and that will only help them.

Cantwell is no doubt a better QB than Griffen. He is WAY better, BUT he can't run like Griffen. For UConn Cantwell might be the easier QB to go up against. Defenders hate having to worry about running QB's. They might not be all that talented, but they can beat you two ways, and speed can kill. Just ask teams about Pat White. WVU wins a lot of games even though Pat White isn't that talented as a QB because he can run the ball.

UConn has the better defense, and the offenses are pretty equal. I actually prefer UConn's consistent run game over Louisville's up and down passing attack. They had a lot of rushing yards last game, but that was because one runner (forget his name) averaged over 10 ypc with a bunch of huge runs. That won't happen against UConn.

Good luck, but I see UConn winning by around 7-10.

We shall see OTK. One thing that really stands out to me is how slow UConn is. Baylor was the much faster team...

I think Louisville's team speed is way too much and they will get up early and UConn is not a catchup type offense. If they start trying to throw the ball around, not gonna happen.

And everyone's favorite, Louisville is still steaming after getting jobbed last year by the fair catch/no fair catch call so it's a REVENGE game (had to throw that in).

Good luck OTK on the REST of your plays this week.

Much easier to stop the run vs. a one-dimensional football team.

i think louisville wants some payback for that fake punt fiasco that turned the whole game around.up to that point, louisville was handling them on both sides.uconn caught alot of lucky breaks last year.lorenzen has thrown 6 ints this year vs 1 td.if louisville brings their A-Game tonite, they should cover easily.
