Wow. If I am a Memphis fan I am going nuts right now. Rudy Gay and OJ Mayo in the same backcourt? Not a bad way to start a franchise...

Love will be a very good player for Minnesota, but Mayo is something special. Putting him with Foye and Jefferson would have done damage. They're starting to build a terrific inside game with Jefferson and Love, but I really think they will regret giving up Mayo here. He has HOF talent (not predicting that he makes the HOF, just saying his talent is up there to do so).

Minnesota also got Miller and Cardinal I think, and Memphis got a couple bums and Walker added in the deal.

How do Memphis/Minnesota fans feel about the trade?

As a Wolves fan I am pissed! Mayo will be an allstar and would of been a huge part of a rebuilding process for the Wolves. Love isn't going to be a star, probably an above average player at best. When your team sucks as bad as the Wolves, you need stars not average players. Target Center will be empty again next year, Mayo would have stirred fan interest and filled some seats. Minnesota fans are pissed and fans are talking about not renewing their season tickets.

And also, last I checked Mayo wasn't the GM either making the trades? Maybe things have changed, but I don't remember teams letting players that have been on the roster for 3 hours call the shots.
