Winner on S.Miss to start the bowls off!!

Bowls YTD: 1-0

Georgia Tech -5

*Again, going with the favorite in this one as I think Tech's defense will be the difference.*

*Cuse is 4-43 ATS away when lose SU!!*

GL!! As you can see really looking for G.Tech to just get the victory here as the odds are very much in our favor that they'll cover the spread.

Right Side, I made $$ betting against `Cuse all season on the road...they were horrible outside the Carrierdome all year long until I unloaded on them against BC in final game of year.....ooops! That being said, I heard some stat on the radio that Orangemen actually cover very well in bowl games (something like 16-4 ATS in bowl games). I don't have any data to back this up, someone else may.

This might be a case of an early bowl game where the line is way off based on public perception of GT being in "tougher" conference. In the absence of any other info, I'll take `Cuse and the points for a small amount and watch for fun....Orangemen owe me some $$$ for beating BC!!!! GL

I hear ya on that Iguana! That BC game was tough. I'm sure they surprised a lot of people in that one. With that said and that trend I posted can they do it back to back..mmmm? I really like the way Tech's defense has played on the road this year and I do see them running the ball on the Cuse which will open up some good opportunities for the pass. I do have a few games I will be playing big, but this one is an average play. I use past bowl trends and stats very little in my capping. It's current performance from this team now that I think is most important and of course the coach as well. GL to you and the Cuse!

R.S., it's a small play for me too, basically just to make the game interesting. GT had Virginia Tech BEATEN, but gave up 3 big pass plays late in the game that blew it for them. They are not a bad team. I'm basically just taking the points in a game where I don't see a clear favorite. GL to you.

P.S. LOVE Bowling Green Wednesday night!

That tougher conference is absolutely correct. See how they played VTech? 3 late TD's in the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter (the last was a pick)! Ball got picked twice, and that score wasn't at all indicative of the game. GT outrushed VTech, and if you take away the two 4th quarter TD's of 131 yds, GT out-passed 'em too.

See how they played Georgia? It was a tough defensive struggle, and between the two teams, there were only 58 yards gained the whole game. That's not a typo, that's fifty-eight. They actually got 5 more 1st downs than the GA Bulldogs, and had a time of possession 3.5 minutes longer! You can say GA wasn't motivated, blah blah, but the fact is Coach Richt is a huge competitor, and instills that in his players 200%.

Do you remember how they did in a bowl last year? They were favored against a very tough Tulsa team by just a TD, probably because of the "tougher conference" inference you mentioned above. I remember a large number of people on this very forum taking Tulsa and the points, and Tech just bit*h slapping the be-jesus out of 'em, 52-10. I remember it was like yesterday, because I had a large play against them. Book>:hump: FNG<FNG p <>

Lesson learned, BELIEVE THE TOUGHER CONFERENCE hype, and Tech smothers this Syracuse team.

Good luck on your picks all, and thanks for your insight Right Side! :digit:

Right Side, I agree - defense is the difference. It also doesn't hurt to have a tall receiver with the vertical of Calvin Johnson. This guy single handedly beat Clemson. Go Tech. GLTA!

interesting little nugget

the ACC is clearly the better conference in this particular matchup; however, Tech is 2-5 SU against bowl eligble opponents (including Clemson in these numbers) and 3-4 ATS. Syracuse is 4-4 SU and 6-2 ATS against bowl eligible opponents...

perhaps more importantly Syr is 3-0(SU & ATS) L3 bowl eligible opponents... that being said, still don't know who I like in this one yet - gl!

Go Tech!!

Nice Call RS, I was at the game last night, well im still here, just woke up im on my labtop. I havent been on any of theses sites in a while been real busy but I just wanted to get on and say nice call on the Jackets. Only a few people were confident about Tech wooping ass last night and I wasent one of them. Knew it would be a close game and Tech coming off a win, maybe even 10 but didnt feel confident enough to lay the money, feel like a ******* now.

***********51-14 DID TECH WIN? I MISSED IT!!!**************:suomi: :suomi: :drink: :drink:
