Let's get a discussion started, the NFL is back with a rematch of Super Bowl 50 right around the corner. Lot's of changes and new faces for the Broncos, the Sheriff rides off into the sunset with another Lombardi while the jilted heir apparent decides to take the money and run to Houston. That leaves Gary Kubiak the decision to hand the keys over to Trevor Siemian, a 7th round draft pick in 2015 out of Northwestern who has yet to throw a pass in a regular season NFL game. Seems like a daunting task for the defending champs with Carolina and their star QB Cam Newton seeking to redeem themselves from a Super Bowl performance I'm sure they would like to forget. Can anyone make a convincing argument on which side to take?

Well I was holding out for the 3.5, but it does not look likely to appear so went ahead and made a small play on Denver +3 (-102).

Denver lost Evan Mathis and replaced him with Max Garcia, next to him will be Russell Okung. These two protecting my rookies blindside who's never taken a regular season snap before, not a good formula for success. I personally don't feel its a good recipe to take on Carolina's D. They are going to throw the kitchen sink at Siemian as far as looks go, and I think kubiak is going to try and keep it simple for the rook. Don't see them scoring enough to hang with Carolina's stacked receiving corps consisting of Benji, Funchess, and Olsen. Throw in Ginn to take the top off and fresh legs for Stewart as well + sb revenge factor if you believe in that. Losing Jackson and travathan will hurt as well. I'm on CAR.

Ravenz, you make an excellent point and my biggest concern is with Denver's o-line, particularly the interior players of Max Garcia (LG), Matt Paradis (C), and Michael Schoefield (RG). These are inexperienced players that don't have a lot of time to gel together, Schoefield in particular is probably the biggest question mark, he's the one who made khalil Mack of the Raiders a household name while filling in at RT last season. Hopefully he will be better at RG. Russell Okung is actually a very good player, when healthy he's probably the least of the Broncos concerns.

Obviously Kubiak wants to run the ball, but I don't think they are going to be able to run against one of the best defensive front 7s in the NFL. So what I think is going to happen is that the Broncos are going to throw to run. They are going to go after the two Carolina rookie CBs with DT & Sanders, which will then hopefully open up some running lanes for CJ Anderson. The big question is going to be the play of Trevor Siemian, the young QB has some nice tools, great arm and ability to quickly process information so we shall see if he can make it happen on this big stage.

Sendacash, Totally agree with everything said here. It just came down to youth and inexperience vs Cam for me. I don't mind backing a rookie with his skill set, but I think his line will be the death of him tonight.

Something that will be interesting to watch for is the addition of a fullback to the Denver offensive scheme with rookie Janovich out of Nebraska. He will be taking on Carolina's all pro LB Luke Kuechly. We should also get to see Kubiak's real offense tonight and not the watered down pistol formation version from last year.
