OK, so Duncan is out due to injury, but the Spurs manhandled the Mavs last night in a laugher. Sure, the Suns have won 3 of their last 4 but those 3 victories were against a NJ team playing with 1 arm behind their back, a sorry Knicks team and a Seattle team that is 1-6 in their last 7. The Spurs are playing 2 days in a row while the Suns are playing their first game since Wednesday and are at home but I hardly think this is worth favoring this team.

Can anyone give me a good reason why I shouldn't bet on the Spurs?

yes.......because the Suns are going to win. Remember, if it looks TOO good, bet the opposite!

Spurs coming off an emotional win last night at home to avoid a sweep by the Mavs.

Revenge: The Spurs have won the last 4 games vs the Suns..

The points still seem tempting

someone posted on here the other day an interesting stat about home dogs who win SU, then play on the road the next day. I don't recall who originally posted it or what the exact numbers were, but in some scenarios that team failed to cover ATS 70-80%?

i didn't research the stat myself and make no claims that it is accurate. It did apply in the thread it was brought up in last week though.

for myself, i don't feel strongly enough to play PHX, but i probably will back off my gut reaction to hit SA hard.

good luck whatever u choose. i will be watching the score as an interested observer only.

Thanks for all the input guys. Interesting stat there Big Iron. It will be interesting to watch tonight. I know Stoudamire had a good game last game out so maybe the linesmakers are expecting another big game from him.

For the record, I took the ML on the Spurs at +121. Good luck to all.

Spurs are murdering the Suns....once again one of those instances where even if it seems too good to be true...it isn't.

That's what happens when you over analyze a game. Just pick a side and pray to God for a miracle.

biggameonly, nice call on taking the ML. I will continue to watch for scenarios where the stat i referenced applies, and see if there's any validity to it.

anyways....even though i "chickened out" and didn't play anything, i'm glad to see that you cashed on the game. congrats!

Thanks Big Iron. The Spurs really surprised me in scoring this many points on the 2nd of two in a row. I had the Spurs at the ML but I also had this game at UNDER 185.5 and it went over.

Oh well.

BigGamesOnly, forgot to thank you for this play..

I thought about it for a while and decided to go with the better team, even with their star player out...

Thanks again.

You're welcome #1. While watching the game I think I figured out why the line on this one went to the Suns. In the previous 2 games this season between these 2, each game was decided by less than 3 points. Perhaps the linesmakers thought that since the Suns were at home and Duncan was out that the Suns should win.

The thing I took into consideration was how the teams were playing recently. The Spurs were playing well and the Suns had not been. The Suns gave the impression that they were doing well but they had only beat teams that were not good at the time.
