Haven't been here in a while, but saw some plays for today that caught my eye and thought I'd post after being prodded by a few people in here...
Already bet the Minnesota Timberwolves on the overnight line...Had to, I knew this line would skyrocket as the day went on...
Minny -4.5 -- This line was going to climb through the roof in my estimation...It was about to hit 5 when I bet it and went to 5 very shortly after I bet it...As I type this, it's obvious to me it's going to hit 5.5 very soon...Going to go with the "new coach syndrome" as the reason for this play...When Mike Fratello took over for Hubie Brown, MEMP covered their first game (at Home vs. Philly)...When Michael Cooper took over at Denver, the Nuggets actually won and covered their first game under him (at Home vs. Philly)...When George Karl took over for Coop, Denver rallied from a 4Q deficit to beat MILW at Milwaukee...I do not look at the Lakers situation as the same...Rudy T was not fired as the coach, he stepped down due to illness...
GM Kevin McHale takes over and should garner some instant respect from these spoiled, selfish, high-priced athletes at Minnesota...Throw in the fact that this is a revenge game after CHI beat Minny on DEC 11...Also, throw in the fact that Minny has beaten CHI at Home at least 5 straight times (margins of victory 5, 24, 53, 10 & 18, and I didn't go back farther than 5 years)...And lastly, throw in the fact that Minny is coming off an 18-point thrashing at Utah their last outing where they were outscored by 22 in the 2nd half and I would say that this is a great spot for the T'Wolves to show up and play some high-quality basketball in front of the Home crowd for the first time in months...
I would bet this game as soon as you can though, the line will CLIMB...
I am also looking at Miami and Sacramento as possible plays today...
Miami Pick -- in a revenge spot vs. SA on National TV...Miami hasn't played a quality opponent in 3 games and all 3 of those games they looked like a team that was sleep-walking at times...They won all 3, but didn't cover any of them...This is a revenge spot for a NOV 12 loss at SA, but if you remember, Dwayne Wade did NOT play in that game due to a sprained ankle...BIG difference here this time around...SHAQ finds ways to will his team to win big games on National TV...Miami has SUCKED vs. the West this year, and I'm sure they are sick and tired of hearing about how they are just 11-10 SU vs the West and 3-6 SU vs Western teams with winning records...Miami has more motivation, they are the play here...And hey, at a Pick, you don't even have to give points...
Sacramento -3 -- Kings have lost 4 in a row...First time since April of 2000...Not sure if I need to say more...Revenge spot for Boston, but I don't think that matters here...SAC should be ready and raring to go here, they need a win...
