Anyone seen any of the Sunday numbers? I have the InLaws around 7-8 million (estimates) for the 3-day, and 9-10 million for the 4-day.

And, Bruce Almighty already cashed for me with the big opening.

Interesting to note that I haven't lost a single bet of my "official plays."

Seriously, though, good job dude. I think I might have lost 3... Not sure when Mojo releases his numbers, I usually find Box Office News' update sometime in the late morning/early afternoon, western time. What do you think Nemo will do? I guess my prediction so far is 67-72 million, up from 60. The Italian Job, uhhhh, 60 million? After Bruce's weekend I think I'll just start adding 10 million to what I might normally estimate for a movie's opening. Haven't seen as many advertisements for IJ or Nemo, however. But Nemo isn't targeted towards my age group so maybe they're out there.

Italian Job, 60 mil? Not a chance that this film breaks 30 mil. Not a chance.

hahah, o.k., fine, I just pulled that number out of my ass. But I would say that it can do more than 30 million. Mark Wahlburg and Ed Norton are a pretty decent team here, and it's getting great reviews.

O.K., everyone else is saying 20-25 million. I guess I'm the only one that doesn't think it's going to bomb.

It's not about bombing, it's about the fact that it's only being released in about 2250 to 2500 theaters. It's not a very wide release. It might surprise and do $27.5 mil, but, if it does anything more than that, I would be absolutely shocked.

yeah, I guess 'bomb' is a bit harsh, but they must have been thinking bigger numbers when they assembled this cast, I mean, almost everyone in this movie, and there are a lot of characters, is a recognisable face. Maybe the only reason I want to go see it is because I'm a Mos Def fan. I'm not particularily thrilled that they gave away the entire story/plot in the preview, either.

I really enjoyed the film quite a bit, actually. I saw a sneak preview this past Saturday. And, I agree with you in the fact that, if you are going to assemble a cast involving Norton, Wahlberg and Theron, you would release this in more than 2500 theaters on opening weekend, but, that's all they've decided to go with, and, I don't see the film being marketed all that much.

I will say that I liked it. I see this as one of those rare, intelligent, well-thought-out thrillers, in the mold of "Heat." On a scale of 1 to 4, I would rate it a 3.5. It was a good time on a Friday night.

Cool. Sounds good. I guess there just aren't enough Americans that can appreciate an intelligent film anymore. Our education system and bland corporate media are whacked! LOL. Look at the backlash that Reloaded is getting, and I thought that movie was excellent. It was pretty hard-core sci-fi, though. But 210 million in 2 weeks isn't too shabby. It's just that it's been dropping pretty darn fast. Could be the R rating. IJ possibly could have faired a little better going up against non-summer competition.
