not a bad betting card for a non-graded stakes sunday.
r1: fresal. the fastest filly in the race and gets the favorable outside box.
r4: legendary traitors. this maiden claimer is full of firsters, all of whom look particularly slow. im backing the returnee for o'neill. if they bet this guy down, he'll probably win, but i wouldn't take less than 2/1.
r5: cheiron. i know boomzeeboom just ran second to the mega talented lion heart and he's bred to run all day and he gets the coveted inside post position for the route, and he gets a huge jockey upgrade to pval. well, what's not to like? the price. he figures odds on and this is a very talented field. cheiron has run well sprinting and should do well moving to two turns for mulhall. i like the price. i'd also give a look to major success who got an educational run in his debut and will undoubtedly run better here.
r8: fencelineneighbor. i'm all over this filly today who gets pval on and the erratic valdivia off. 'neighbor has a ton of talents and need only outlast quero quero who makes her comeback for the mercurial paulo lobo. exacta box?
r9: amedeo. don't love the rail at 5.5 f, but no matter, i'll back this daughter of wild gold for the sharp jean pierre dupuis. he should flash speed and need only shake loose in the first furlong to be very tough to run down late.
