the clouds have parted for the moment at least and here's my take from santa anita. want to also say i', thrilled about the recent flurry of activity on this board.

r4: cleft. mandella trainee is long on breeding but short on running of late. turf should be right up her alley and we'll get a price with the apprentice aboard.

r5: mudweiser. mud route hasn't had terrific win early success, but this one looks like a tight fit at the maiden 40 level...

r9: single market. frankel filly in the juddmonte colors will take some beating off an educational run down the hill last month. the opposition isn't much, and this one looks like virtual lay up a mini-mutuel.

What's really nice is that everyone is polite for the most part and rooting for each other to do well. Don't find that everywhere.

Race 8 -Santa Maria Hcp

Star Parade should be gunning from the outside post to either lead or stalk. Loves Santa Anita and the 1 1/16m distance. Puts away the other early runners and the one who looks best to pick up some pieces is Hollywood Story. Her last shows that she's back in top form and the bullet workout confirms it.

hollywood story has the most upside in that race, but i'm afraid the 4/1 morning line won't hold up.

With 15 mtp Star Parade is 5-1... totally rediculous for a horse with this much speed. I think everyone's scared of the layoff but she has already won a couple of races after taking a break.
