RICH INTENTIONS - I think the shorter trip will help this gelding stay the distance. I think this gelding is very fit right now. I like the fact that Richards brings him back to a race so quickly. Have to like the way Richards has raced this gelding back into shape off the layoff. Horse is well spotted in this sprint and I think he'll run well today.

IMPETUOUS POWER - Today's event is 5 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't hit the board in a sprint event in the last two months. Not the best of signals. This horse just hasn't looked ready lately. GAMEDAY SPANKING - Don't believe this vulnerable equine has what it takes to be victorious this time out. CASHEL BACK - Just can't play this vulnerable equine. Didn't show me anything positive in the last race or on November 28th. Usually I need a sprinter to have some recent success in short distance races in order to play him. This gelding ********** a rating in his last affair which probably isn't good enough in today's event.

DAYJUR HOOQ - I like to wager on this angle, a horse coming back off a nice outing within the last month. Using this jock/handler combination is a smart move. This gelding garnered a nice speed rating of 71 in his last event. That speed fig should be high enough to triumph this time out. He has the highest earnings per race. Take a good look at this one. CANT DO THE DANSE - It don't take a university education like someone like my buddy Brain has to figure this one out. We have a first-time-starter with a trainer (Hollendorfer) who is terrific taking horses out for the first time. The recent bullet 49.8 work should put this gelding on track for today's outing. I like the fact that this first time starter's recent works have been over this track. The addition of Lasix might make this horse wake up right here in this race. I like that this first timer has been working regularly.

Vulnerable Contenders: #5 HIMALAYA STAR (ML=9/5), #4 RELENTLESS WARRIOR (ML=7/2), #2 SQUARE JIMMER (ML=6/1),

HIMALAYA STAR - Doesn't appear to be worth 9/5 this time around. Pass on him this time. RELENTLESS WARRIOR - Not likely for this thoroughbred to make a winning move with no recent good showings in a short distance race. SQUARE JIMMER - If he goes off close to the morning line odds of 6/1, I'll have to pass.

Should do well. Ran a less than stellar race at Fair Grounds last time around the track. Racing on a fast track puts this colt at the top of my list of contenders. The Dec 22nd affair at Fair Grounds was at a class level of (88). Dropping down the ladder based on class considerably, so he should be in a good position. KILTED COWBOY - This jockey and trainer's horses have been producing a beneficial ROI. BERN' JAMES BERN - Horses out of the barn of Asmussen have been strong on the turf. Should perform well. Ran in the last race against tougher competition at Fair Grounds. The move to a lower class rank should suit him well. This horse ran outside the top 3 at Fair Grounds last time around the track in the slop. He should improve in this event without the off-track conditions. The conditioner is switching this thoroughbred to the grass for a reason. Let's take a shot on this race horse.
