Both Melhouse and Long struck out looking. No way can you take those pitches with two strikes on you. Filthy sinkers.

How about those were two GREAT money pitches. There are a lot of whiners on this board.

I have no particular interest in the game, but nobody can objectively say that some of Lowe's "called strikes" were NOT out of the zone.

Also, I agree ... you CANNOT go down looking like that.

I gotta admit I was nervous. When Lowe came in I felt he was really the best move Little could have made. IMO.

Lander- Which pitches did you object to? The ball was right down the middle of the plate on the two called strike outs.

That was Oakland Athletics offense, 2003 version. I was sitting there thinking "Don't drop the bunt. You know you can't hit a sac fly for shit"

And whadday ya know, k's.

That team is pitiful. Did anyone in that ballpark have ANY confidence in Long? Any whatsoever?

wave to Tejada... he can bring his choke artists ways to some other playoff contender. he'll bring you there, but all bets are off in Oct.

I haven`t been that nervous watching a game in a long time...atleast a week ,lol...

Those two back door money pitches were strikes! The only call questionable was the strike call on Singleton who walked anyway...Lowe was Little`s last card, why did he(Lowe) shave his melon?

Primarly the 2-0 called strike at the chin.
That back door breaking ball for the 2nd out looked inside to me .. but that one is on the hitter - too close to call.

that was one hell of a series. My hat is off to both teams. Talk about drama. Bases loaded 1 one and two K's be your #2 starter in relief.

the homeplate ump was pretty confident with the calls though. I mean in that atmosphere, at home.... these guys tend to realllly hate ringing up the batter looking, but this guy seeemed to do it with stride.

lol... but most of the pitches were in there. A's were just hoping to give the bat to someone else. anyone but whoever wore a white jersey.

The 2-0 pitch may have been high but the ball started off inside and moved almost dead center by the time it crossed the plate on both called K's. Should be an interesting NY/Bos series.

will, more like inneficiency... this whole series was ugly in terms of execution and just freakin' guts to close out the deal.

started right with gm1 and Kim/Embree combo fu#king it up. then right on to game 3 with both teams playing sleepwalking type baseball.
4 errors by the a's, piss poor baserunning

Foulke's collapse.

all up to today...... makes for great tv, but walk/walk to set up drama is gutcheck time.

Bottom line, great series. Don't know how I'm going to make it if the Yanks series is like this. Was there every any doubt it would come down to the last pitch? Red Sox = Ratings...in the postseason.

That was a ump aided win for Redsox, game 3 and 5 especailly, so if Redsox go any further it comes with an asterisk
