What's the Over/Under on how long until Holgorsen does something really stupid? He's a train wreck waiting to happen when it comes to life off the field.

Holgorsen is a genius with the offenses. But your right, he is a trainwreck. And I think this was about the worse possible time for a HC to step down. Everybody is now thrown into different roles unless Holgorsen is going to also make himself the OC. Not sure he's ready for that kind of bigtime multi-tasking responsibilty.

Step 1: Learn to consistently leave casinos voluntarily.

Step 2: Run a major college football program.

These things should really be taken in order.

He'll be fun to watch. Whenever it happens, I'm pretty sure his departure from West Virginia will make Mike Leach's look dignified and graceful.

AD Oliver Luck (father of Stanford QB) has just staked his future with this guy. This entire situation is a major fxxkup for West Virginia.

i think it is great that stew is gone....the defensive staff is intact...nothing changes....they all hate stew and talk at least as possible.....on offense holgs has stated nothing will change....he was calling the plays before and will continue now...their was a clause in stews old contract saying he had 0 input on offensive plays.....he couldnt tell holgs what to do...

the big part is now...he is the leader....several players have been quoted as saying both stew and holgs would tell them to do something, but they had a hard time decideing who to listen too.....it was too much of a distraction for wvu....this settles everything....i was looking at about an 8-4 record with stew...now i could see 9-10 wins....

thats about the only thing i can see as being a down fall is that holgs isnt ready....when he spoke the othernight at the presser, you could tell he was quite nervous....

I wouldn't call it a major fukup. At least not yet. But you WV guys have to admit this is a major primetime soap opera. Holgorsen is the one who is escorted out of a casino in an inebriated state, yet it was Stewart who got the axe. I'm still not really sure what to make of this. But head coaches have been fired for less than what Holgerson did. What could be a problem in the future is you now have a public drunk for a head coach. OSU, the school where Holgerson just came from, when it comes to hiring coaches has always had a win at all costs attitude to keep up with the big boys. They hired both Suttons, father and son, to coach the basketball teams. Decent coaches, at least the daddy was. But like father like son, they were major substance abusers. The school looked the other way for a long time until both reached the breaking point and got caught publicly doing some bad bad things. So no matter which way you look at it, your taking a chance hiring a dude like Holgorsen. AD Luck will probably keep Holgerson on the straight and narrow for awhile. Just don't be surprised if somewhere down the road, Holgerson starts making the papers. And it won't have anything to do with football wins.

This is certainly not an ideal situation. His players are going to have a hard time having respect for the guy....how is he going to discipline any of them for alcohol related fuck ups?

He can certainly run an offense, he's proven that....but there is much, much more to running a college football program. Hopefully the assistant coaches are solid and have some leadership skills.

Holgerson is an offensive genius, but he has some serious character flaws that he's got to get under control. While at UHouston, he was known to cruise the bars close to campus on a Friday night before Saturday home games. Same while in Lubbock and I am sure in Stillwater as well. The guy is the football version of Rick Majerus, he always lived in hotels. It was one of the reasons several schools did not interview him because of his reputation. I hope he works out because he's fun to watch run an offense.

As for Stew, if some of the things the media is reporting about him are true, he deserved to get fired. If you love WVa, and they are paying you to coach this year and help the coach in waiting transition, just do your job. Especially when they are going to keep you as an ambassador for the athletic program. You get to help the school raise funds and for capital improvements. Should have put his pettiness aside for the greater good of the school.

the more wins you have , the more you can fuck-up as they say , its all about winning (The SEC has mastered this principle)

Do Auburn fans care about the guys who got into trouble this off-season? Not really. Because they won the national title. Instead, they reward Chizik with a new contract with a big increase in pay. If Chizik was a bust last year, then they would the off-season incidents as more ammo to get rid of him, but winning covers alot of things up and is the ultimate security blanket.
