He sure makes his teammates better if you look at guys like Raja Bell and Boris diaw having career years. And then seeing guys like Quentin Richardson leave and just absolutely stink. And his own stats are better this year

I am suprised though that he got it again since he doesnt fit the traditional idea of a legendary or even dominant player

Jm isn't this still unofficial.

I'm still holding out hopes sanity prevails.

Nash is vastly overated. Puts up numbers in a system where everyone gets extra shots with all the posessions. Also has no presence on defense whatsoever.

A great point guard but a back to back MVP? No way.

Dallas seems to be doing fine without him...

I think he is the best candidate and well deserve if you look at all his personal stats in which he's among the top in many categories.............

1)Assist
2)Free throws
3)Field goal %
4)Scoring
5)Efficiency
6)3 pt shooting
7)Double double

Not just a one dimensional player........the only thing he can't do is block shots.

6 players on his team had career years, I think he helped with that. Lebron
was probably a close second, plus LBJ has a few MVPs to look forward to in the near future.

Nash uses his brain when he plays. He did wonders with "less" this year. When I have newest NBA Live titles, he is one of the first players I draft or trade for.

Yeah I keep hearing this point made. It sounds nice but as I said in this system everyone is going to put up extra numbers. And even more importantly basically all these guys also played career minutes.

More disturbing is the actual voting numbers I'm reading.

From http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/index.php?sty=64095

Nash received 30 first-place votes, 24 second-place votes and 549 total points in the Tribune survey, giving him a 141-point lead over James — who has 408 points but only garnered 11 first-place votes.

Dirk Nowitzki ranks third in total points (370) and second in first-place votes (12), but the Dallas Morning News, citing several league sources, reported Tuesday that Nowitzki did not win the MVP award. Kobe Bryant of the Lakers, the league's leading scorer at 35.4 points per game, received 11 first-place votes and ranks fourth in total points (279),but 48 of the 75 writers polled had Bryant listed either fourth (18), fifth (17) or left him off their ballots completely (13). Chauncey Billups of Detroit placed fifth in the survey with 246 points and 10 first-place votes.

These fools should be losing their jobs imo.

Nash is a great player but back to back MVP? No way... He has great numbers but he plays in a run and gun offense. I mean he is a great PG but has he really dominated last 2 years like these MVPS have in the past:

#of MVPs:
6 - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
5 - Michael Jordan
5 - Bill Russell
4 - Wilt Chamberlain
3 - Larry Bird
3 - Magic Johnson
3 - Moses Malone
2 - Tim Duncan
2 - Karl Malone

Do people consider Nash one of the greatest players of all time?

I mean Shaq has 1? I don't get it.

Agree that Nash is overrated especially when stacked against the list of other multiple MVP's. IMO he's nowhere NEAR the caliber of those players.

Most MVPs makes the whole team play better as a group but with Shaq and Kobe they are individuals vs team players. That is why those two guys will not win many MVPs in their career.

Jordan jacked up many many many shots and dominated the game in the same way. I am not sure who he made better? He won 5 MVPs. He was considered by so many as a ball hog.

I find it incredible what Nash can do with the ball, particularly when he looks like the runt of the litter even though he's suppposed to be 6'3".

What in the world do past multiple mvp winners have to do with Nash? He was the most valuable player to his team last year and I think he is even more deserving this year. Yea he is not as good a player as those players listed but that should be a complete non factor in who you vote for.
