Thought you guys in CR might enjoy this piece about a Wisconsin college basketball team's visit. Article was printed on www.d3hoops.com

UW-Superior had no problem getting into Costa Rica and little trouble guiding a bare-bones team to a 3-2 record over five days, but getting out of the Central American country was a little more difficult.
Hours before the team was scheduled to leave, they got a call to hit the road early because a transportation strike was about to hit the country. Driving to the port city of Limon, the team's departure point, the traveling party ran into a roadblock of striking workers.

"We ended having a large van meet us from San Jose, walked across the blockade, without luggage, and drove to San Jose," said coach Jeff Kaminsky. "The roads were blocked there, too, and continued to be for three days after we got out."

The Yellowjackets took last year's starting backcourt and a returning power forward to go along with two players who redshirted last year. Floyd Nyemeck-Bayiha averaged 19.2 points over the five games, while point guard Laron Reid added 16.2, Marc Rothschadl 14.0 and Amin McDonald, the forward, adding 10.8. "Those four are really a solid nucleus for us coming back," said Kaminsky. "It'll be the best backcourt we have had."

The basketball highlight of the trip was an 84-75 win against Limon on the sixth day of the trip, the fifth consecutive day with a game.

"It was a good trip," said Kaminsky. "The competition was good for us, it was a good country to be in. They were very friendly towards us.

"Costa Rica is a very educated country, with like 96% literacy. Where we were for half the trip, San Jose, it was like any large city. It's in the rain forest, so we took a day where we went to the rain forest and visited the waterfalls and the national park, and obviously there's a lot of coastal areas so we spent a couple days on the Caribbean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean."
