that must be all the cash you won on the Steelers Superbowl laying the points.

Montana and Bradshaw both have 4 Superbowls. 32-12 combined in the playoffs. Dan Marino could win, today, with the Steelers D. You're not going to tell me that Roethlisberger is better than Marino just because never had the D to back him up? Roethlisberger is the recipient of a great Defense. Over his career the D has given up 16.4 points a game. Name me one qb that had that kind of D over 5 years and doesn't have a great win-loss ratio.

There is no arguement about the steelers d. But the fact of the matter is the steelers will only go as far as Bigben will take them and he took them all the way. Ben is only 27 or 28 yrs old with 2 superbowl rings.....I guess we will see when it is all said and done. 1 more concussion and he could be done. If that last minute super bowl drive did not do it for you I think you just do not like him.............

Marino was the best natural arm in the nfl, but he had no mobility which playoff team defenses could stop him...........

Like I said above, winning % is all that matters.:grandmais
Dude, can you read? BOTH of my statements, BOTH made at different times, BOTH state that "winning is the most important stat". You shouldn't talk/write before you think/read things through. Does Roethlisberger have a decent win percentage? YES. My point is, what bum couldn't when his D gives up 16.4 points a game over a career. 4 of his 5 years he couldn't throw more than 18 tds. He's had one good year, with great defenses 4 of those years and a very good one in the other. HELL, even Grossman won 14 games behind a great D and went to the Superbowl. So, is Grossman great too? No, he's a bum that can't read a defense. Defense is like a big band-aid that covers up a lot of the problems on offense. In this case the Steelers D is one big band-aid.

I don't think lack of mobility kept him from getting a ring. It is a team game, and as they say "defense wins championships". Well, the proof is in the pudding. 17 years in the NFL his defenses gave up 20.3 points per game. In only 5 of those 17 did they give up less than 20. Ben's had that in all 5 of his seasons. As I said before 16.4. Marino got to the Superbowl as a 2nd year starter, but the 49ers were coming of age, then when his defenses started getting good again, the Bills were coming of age. Tough break, but just because Ben has two rings doesn't make him a great player. As Marino without a ring doesn't take anything away from his great ability.

Good point. Defense does win championships.

But I do not care what anybody says. The steelers do not win the super bowl without BigBen.....He wins plain and simple:toast:

Dude, I played with Marino, and the bottom line is he had zero mobility, and that was the reason he couldn't win the Big One.:grandmais

Take a look at all the QB's that have won a Superbowl. Many of them had average to poor mobility. Troy Aikman (3), Tom Brady (3), Joe Montana (4), Jim Plunkett (2), Peyton Manning (1) and Kurt Warner (1) are just a few examples. Now look at all 43 winning teams and look how those defenses did during the regular season and you will notice that a whopping 3 allowed 20 pts or more per game, which are 2006 Colts @ 22.5, 1983 Raiders @ 21.1 and the 1968 Jets @ 20. So that means that only once in his playing career (1983 his first year) has a team with mediocre D won the "Big One" as you say. Defense wins championships and Marino usually had a bad one as I stated before....only 5 times in 17 years did they allow less than 20 pts. Did you by chance play on the D?
