I will update my regular season record here shortly, but I thought that I would start posting my NBA playoff selections, as the playoffs have been lucrative for me in the past. Here goes.

1* Indiana +150 (Game 2)
1* Under 185 Philly/Detroit (Game 2)
1* Dallas Mavericks to win Series -110

Good luck guys!

I was really shocked with the Pacers lack of effort in game #1. In my mind they have several edges that just did not translate. I believe this and the Mavs will go 7. I am sitting as I am still in shock with last lost bet on them.

Good luck man, thanks for posting...OF:103631605

Took Mavs for series -1.05. Will reciprocate with a series price tomorrow. Helps to have a lot of ponds. Mavs take it to 7 they are about a 3/1 fave.

Not too proud to follow...OF:digit:

Steam-Glad to hear I am on the same side as Lab, as I hear that he was quite solid last year's playoffs. Hope all is well with you and thanks for the support.

Frog-I was shocked to see the Pacers fall apart in game 1 also. They are obviously much better than what they showed in that game. Jermaine O'Neal's injury is much worse than I thought. He is really have little to no impact thus far tonight. He is in pain every time down the floor. If I would have known the injury was this bad, I most likely would not have played the Pacers. However, they are up 5 at the half so I will hope for a nice defensive effort from them in second half to hold on for the win. It will be tough though in my opinion with O Neal playing a part. I think the Dallas series goes 7 game also. If Dallas wins tonight, which I expect, there will be hedging opportunities for my series bet. But I do think that if they win tonight, it sets up nicely for Dallas to win in 7 games. Good luck to you the rest of the playoffs.

Great call on the Pacers $L. Even though I got the easy cover, MOV 25 points under. You got the + money. Tell you what, as long as we both cash, you can take the glory.

Great job SB...Best Wishes...OF:toast:

Thanks guys! Indiana showed me a ton tonight, coming back late in the fourth to get the victory. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, I have seen them do it before. In a game earlier this year against my Heat, the Pacers were down 8 with 52 seconds left. They ended up tying the game and eventually won it in OT. The Pacers are a great defensive, veteran lead team. They can do some damage in these playoffs if Jermaine O'Neal can get healthy. And speaking of the Pacers, I still do not understand why Reggie is retiring. He is still a very, very good player in this league. If he were to come back next season, the Pacers would be right there with Detroit and Miami as the favorites to come out of the East. I think the Pacers at least split in Indy, and may even win both. Great win though tonight. Just a heads up, I most likely will be on Sacramento tomorrow night. But for now, let's get a Mavericks win.

Lab-

You are on a great run, I hope it continues. I was watching this game and didnt get a chance to see your post about playing the second half until now. The line was nice and I do believe you are surely on the right side taking Dallas in the second half. They win this game by 5-8 points in my opinion. However, being that I have them to win the series, I wasnt looking for anymore action on this game anyway. Went 2-1 in baseball today, winning with the Phillies and Pirates and losing the Braves. Big win for me today with the Pacers. A nice profitable day, so now time to relax and hopefully get this Dallas game in. I will root for you on your plays for the second half. Thanks for the heads up though! And by the way, I am with you 100% on the Pacers for game 3. I am already on them at -2. This is the wrong line for this game. I am just hoping that the line doesnt indicate Jermaine O'Neal's status. Have you heard anything about him? I would think that this line is that low because he may not play. If he does play, the line is way out of whack. It should have opened at -4 in my opinion.

Really dissapointed the way the Mavs game ended up. It looks like my series bet with Dallas may be a loser, however, I would play that again if I had the chance. I know that may sound strange, however, I thought that there was great value in Dallas. I still would not be surprised if Dallas hung in there and still made this a series. These teams are too evenly matched for Houston to win 4 straight in my opinion. If Dallas wins game 3, this series changes drastically. We shall see what happens. If Houston does advance, I think there will be great opportunities playing them against Phoenix in the next round.

I am getting on this one early, as the game is not until Thursday night. As I stated earlier in this thread, I think that the line for the Celtics/Pacers game 3 is off. Indiana has now shown that they can beat the Celtics by slowing down the game. It should not be a surprise, as Indiana defeated them handily last year in the playoffs. This line should have opened at -4 in my opinion. The only reason I can think of for this line to be this low is because of Jermaine O'Neal's injury. He did play hurt tonight and obviously was not himself. I have not heard anything to think that he wouldn't play in game 3. If he does indeed play, as I expect, this line is OFF. Indiana plays very tough at home and there is no reason why this line should be this low. Good enough for a strong 2 unit play.

2* Pacers -2 -115 (Game 3)

Adding Sacramento +140

Playoffs 1-0 +1.5 Units

1* Sacramento Kings +140

I really like Sacramento in this spot tonight to get a win and to even this series at 1-1. Sacramento lost in Game 1 by only 5 points after trailing by 15 at the half. I point this out because I really like the way the Kings played in the second half of that game, as Adelman made some adjustments and the Kings played much better. Make no mistake about it, the Kings did not play very good overall in game 1. The team shot only 38% from the field and a miserable 5-24(20%) from beyond the 3 point line. The Kings only went to the FT line 15 times and only made 9 of them (60%), compared to Seattle, who went to the line 28 times, converting 21 of their free throws. Bibby was awful, shooting 1-16 from the field. I expect a much improved effort from the Kings tonight. The Kings are a team that have a ton of veterans who have been through the playoff wars before (Bibby, Peja, Mobley, Jackson, Ostertag, Miller) and know that this is a game they must win to get back in this series. Brad Miller returned to action for Kings in game 1, but only played 8 minutes. However, he was extremely effective, scoring 7 points on 3-3 shooting and pulling down 4 rebounds in the limited minutes. I would expect him to play more minutes tonight and play a bigger role in this game. I also like the way Adelman countered with Ostertag in the second half to offset the size of Jerome James. Bibby will not have a night like last game, as he is usually very solid in the playoffs. I see no reason why Peja and Mobley cannot repeat their performances and also think that Bobby Jackson can only play better, as he gets more minutes and shakes off the rust. Bottom line is that the Kings have just as good a shot to win this game as the over achieving Sonics, and I will gladly take the nice takeback of +140 on a game that I think the Kings win. They have the better players, more experienced team, the more experienced coach, and in my opinion the better overall team. Good enough for a solid 1 unit play for me.

Frog-
I know this number seems low, however I do think this one goes under. In game 1, the game finished at 191 points. That is with 2 quarters of 50+ points. I just do not see that happening again. I think Philly will come with more defensive energy than in game 1, as their backs are against the wall. You know you will always get a great defensive effort from Detroit. Would not be surprised to see a 93-82 game. Can this one go over the total? Obviously, I just dont see it happening tonight. But if you do not like the play, I would advise not playing it. Would hate for you to lose a play that you didnt like from the start. Just root it home for me, as I will be at the Heat game tonight and obviously wont be able to watch Detroit. Out of my 2 plays tonight, I do like the Sacramento play a little better. Glad to see us on the same side with that one. Good luck tonight!

Adding two plays

Playoffs 2-1 +1.50 Units

I already have a strong 2 unit play pending tonight on the Pacers -2. I am adding two more plays for the Heat/Nets game tonight.

1* Heat -3
1* Heat/Nets Over 92.5 (First Half)

I will incude my writeup on this game from my thread entitled, "Spreadbeater's Thoughts on Miami/Jersey Game 3".

Miami/New Jersey moves to game 3 at New Jersey with the Heat leading 2-0 in the best of 7 series. The line was 8.5/9 in the first two games in Miami and the Nets didnt come close to covering either time, as Miami dominated them in both home games. Now they go to Jersey and the line goes down to -2.5/-3. Miami has absolutely dominated the Nets in all 5 games this season, winning by an average of 20 points per game. The lowest margin of victory has been 16 points. 4 of those games included Vince Carter in the Nets lineup. Miami goes on the road tonight to face the Nets, where they have beat them twice this season, by 16 and 23 points. I still see many people that are on the Nets tonight and frankly I do not understand why. What have the Nets shown you in the first two games to deserve money put on them? They have not shown me a thing. However, Miami has shown a ton. Even with Shaq playing less than 50%, the Heat have won convincingly each time. Both Eddie Jones and Shandon Anderson have played Vince very well, limiting his effectiveness. The Nets have proved that there is nobody on their roster that can contain D Wade. Shaq can only play better as his health improves. The role players have stepped up huge, with Damon Jones, Eddie Jones, Alonzo Mourning, Keyon Dooling, and Udonis Haslem all playing exceptionally well. I am well aware that the Heat are on a 9 game road playoff losing streak. Please throw that stat out the window. Those games came with the likes of Malik Allen, Caron Butler, Brian Grant, and Rafer Alston playing significant minutes. Those games came without playoff tested Shaq and Zo. This is a whole new team. Bottom line is that the Heat have now won 23 of the past 25 games when they have their starting 5 playing. One of the losses came to Philly, Shaq's first game back after injury. Philly had to shoot 55% from 3 point land and had to shoot 33-34 from the FT line just to get the game to overtime, where they would eventually win. The other came on the road against Boston, a loss by 2 points. The fact is the Heat are a very, very tough team to beat. I know the Nets had been on a huge run, winning 15 of 19 to close the season. But this is now the playoffs and they are playing a far superior team that is on a mission. The only thing that stops me from making this a 2 unit play is that I think if Jersey can win one game in the series, it will be the one tonight. However, I just do not see them getting it done. My bet is on the Heat -3 for one unit. Good luck guys!

Currently sitting with Indy -2 for 2 units. I am not as confident about the play as I was the other night as injuries to O'Neal, Jackson, and Jones are a major concern. I still think that Indy can and will get it done tonight, however, I am going to downgrade the play to one unit by playing Boston +3.5. Essentially leaving me with one unit on Indy -2 with a shot at a middle. Recap for tonight's games.

2* Indiana Pacers -2
1* Heat -3
1* Over 92.5 Heat/Nets (First Half)
1* Boston +3.5

Good luck guys and let's GO HEAT!
