Slow start to the season, but the damage has been minimal. Hopefully will start to get it going this week. One play for Monday....

Cleveland/Dallas Over 192.5 2 Units

Going to try the over again with the new uptempo Mavs. The first game of the season for Dallas really showed what they want to do offensively and the speed in which they want to play at. They scored 102, while allowing 112 on the other end. While this will be an above average offense, their defense is very suspect. Their last game, against Minnesota, was a dud on the scoreboard, however it was really just the third quarter which killed that total. Only 29 3Q points scored. In the same game, the 1Q totaled 51, the 2Q totaled 51, and the 4Q totaled 49. Was on pace to exceed 200 points, but was killed by that dud of a third quarter. Tonight Dallas returns home, where they should dictate the style of play. Cleveland looked bad defensively last time out, allowing 102 points to an undermanned Hornets squad. The winner of this one should be right around 100, with the loser not too far behind.

Good Luck tonight SB. I have considered playing this over and am still leaning that way as of right now. I agree that the change up in the Mavericks offense has created more point opportunities and the over here seems like the right play.

However, as witnessed in the Houston game, and as evidence in the 3Q in the game against Minnesota. When the Mavericks are not hitting shots then the offense goes down incredibly. It seems that the Mavericks have got to stay hot and on all cylinders for them to continue to put up impressive points. The quarters out of four quarters of that high powered offense is nice, but the one quarter seems to be the dagger. I do think that the total tonight is low enough to allow a mediocre quarter by the Mavs especially if the Cavs can pick up the pace a tad.

That can be said about any team. Yes. When teams are not hitting shots, they do not score as much. However, I play totals based on what I expect the pace of the game to be. You can never cap a total based on if you think the teams are going to hit their shots. Teams can go cold, or get hot, on any given night. In my opinion, the key is the pace. At a fast pace, even if a team shoots a low %, they can put up points.

At the Half....

Pace more than there, Mavs just could not hit a shot in the first quarter. Both teams shooting badly, around 40% each. Mavs cannot hit a 3. Dirk shooting terribly, 1-7 from the field. Hoping for same pace 2H, with better results.

Fade the Mavs when ever they play good teams before Vegas starts adjusting the lines. They have been pure shit since the trade for Jason Kidd. They're not going to get any better either.

Well this one was a dud from the start. Mavs could not hit anything early and that was just a preview of things to come. They played about as bad as I have ever seen this Dallas team play. So much for this new improved Dallas offense. It is downright offensive. Should have listened to myself from before the season started, where I stated that this Dallas team will regress. They are going to have to blow this squad up and start from scratch. The current makeup may not even make the playoffs.

Should be back tomorrow....
