Playoffs 15-11
Regular Season 54-43
Miami Heat +1.90 1 Unit
I said going into this series that the Heat will split in Dallas and I still feel that way. The Heat played a great 1Q on Thursday and then played some of their worst basketball of the season in quarters 2-4. Many people are looking at game 1 and saying that Dirk and Josh Howard played terrible and the Mavs still won by 10. So what? The Heat played awful for the majority of game 1. 'Toine and D Wade turned the ball over a ton. Shaq almost put up an ofer from the FT line. Heat only got 2 points from their bench. Heat only scored 49 points in the last 3 quarters. However, the most disturbing thing to me about game 1 was the fact that Toine had 8 more FG attempts than Shaq. Shaq was efficient when shooting from the floor, 8-11. He can and will score on this Dallas team if given shots. The Heat will look to go to him much more often in game 2. Not only does Shaq score often when he has the ball, but he allows open jumpers for the rest of the Heat when Dallas doubles down on him. I expect Miami to play a much more efficient game on Sunday night and to shoot a higher % from the field. Also expect the Heat to cut down on the turnovers and bad possesions. The Heat win this one and comes back to Miami tied at 1-1.
Best of luck to all!
