I have read a bit about SBR in this forum and they seem to get quite a bit of respect for their job. But what is the catch? I see they don't make any money on advertising.Who does all this work for free? Is this service just some philantropic work of a well-off gambler or something like this?

Is SBR the best watchdog around?

Opinions very much appreciated!

It's a good site to bookmark and check frequently.

However, if I were SBR, I would revamp the whole site.

Rasmus :

They make their money via " REFERRALS" , when someone signs up through their site to any of the books on the Recommended List they get a kick back for the referral .

Basically an indirect way of charging for being on the Recommended List .

Regardless of their claim of "no advertising money" which some feel is misleading, SBR seems to always be very objective and fair in it's assessments of books.

I'd check with SBR before I pull the trigger.

SBR is great but their ratings are sometimes way off. How can tips.dk ever be B+?? It should rather be A+++

SBR tells it like it is and since they have nobody that advertises with them they dont have to worry about anything but telling it like it is and personaly as a player i like that because you know whos good and whos bad without any backlashing from any advertisers

SBR is a good thing for all of us. Checked him out regularly before I worked here and check his site out now just as much. We will disagree at times but that's part of the whole thing, makes it a stronger situation for the players. Yes he does get compensated from sportbooks and I do feel his front page is misleading but Buzz is a good guy and the site is extremely useful for gamblers. Who cares if he makes a dollar?

I have never contacted him where he does not share what he knows or tries to help me. I can't knock this site even if he kicks me from time to time, hell I probably deserve it.

I support Buzzsaw and his site, and feel it helps players get paid which is very important.

It appears there are 5 different ranks -- RUN list, black list, recommended list, considered for recommended list, and none of the above (which is just below considered for recommended list). Then he has an A+ to F scale of financial stability for the the recommended list.

If it were my site, I would give EVERY BOOK a rating for:

1. STABILITY & HONESTY (i.e. will you get paid in full and promptly, will they cancel/change a bet after it is placed or use other fraudulent tactics)

2. VALUE (discount juice, sign up/referral/reload bonuses, large selection of bets such as props)

3. WEB SITE (reliability, ease of use, speed)

4. PHONE & CUSTOMER SERVICE (friendliness, problem solving, clear English)

5. LIMITS & TOLERANCE (do they accept winners/sharps and accomodate large bets)

6. An OVERALL score that combines all these factors (numeric scale such as 1-100).
