YTD (Starting Dec 11th) 1-0 +2.0 Units

Folks nothing jumped out at me like crazy so I am gonna keep things small for tonite. I dont wanna give back what I got yesterday in what was a larger play...like others who post here I am in it for the long haul...The only sure thing in gambling is that 'There is no Thing...As a Sure thing...'

Phi +.5 -120

ill take the 1/2 goal & lay the 20 on what is sure to be a heated affair between conference leaders. Nj has had a history of getting the better of the Flyers but for me that is only more motivation for tonites game. Please note I am a little biased here as I have been a huge Flyer fan since 1987 (Ron Hextall's Rookie year...anyone remember that 7 game series against edmonton for the cup Final? that is what hockey needs to get back to.

Phi over 4.5 +117 (pinny)

i know these teams play great defence but the +117 is very attractive on the over in a 4.5 situation, in any game really...Once you get to learn my style you will note that I love to play the odds to a large degree, not only situations.

Columbus +.5 + 20

I am hoping they can pull together two good games at home...braithwaite stood on his head last game...if he is back in net ride the hot goaltender & take the puck & the money. If he is not proceed with caution.

Pitt +.5 + 200

Again, a situation where I love the number. A tie will win me twice my money against the thrashers...I'll take it...Pens are bad...very bad...could easily lose here, could easily get blown out. I'll still take my chaces, they were in the game to the end agains edmonton 4-3 & went to overtime in there last game as huge dogs...'great pick SSI'.

Hoping for a split here tonight guys & hoping Pitt is one of the games.

1/2 unit each play....just for some entertainment really.......

The play on the Flyers looks interesting, particularly since it is a featured game on Tradesports. It's available for -115 at Canbet.

Good call on the boys tonight Savant. I didn't want to jinx it by giving it to you too soon but Devils without Madden and the Flyers getting Therien back worked out well. The over was a good call too.

Well you got the split 2-2 with the wins on Phi and the over. Too bad Columbus couldn't hang on for another 8.3 seconds!

Thanks for the helpful analysis. I just played the Flyers/Devils and had a good entertainment. I sold the Devils at 2-0, bought them at 2-2, sold them at 3-2 then bought them at 3-3 so I was hedged for the end of regular time and overtime. When you catch the swings just right Tradesports can be a pleasure to use!

When you use tradesports do you use the trade pages or the American Odds Format? IE When you say you sold the devils...does that mean bet on Philly?

Simple answer is yes, I sold New Jersey and so bet on Philly.

Tradesports when first launched used the trade format, similar to stock trading but with a floor of 0 and a ceiling of 100 representing either loss or win of the contract. Since I started using it this way I have always used the trading page rather than the betting page they introduced later. If I plan to trade during the game, rather than hold contracts for expiry, then I find it mentally easier to treat it as a trading situation.

So the contract tonight was New Jersey-0.5. It was already 2-0 when I tuned in.

New Jersey 2 Phil 0 Sell at 80; Short i.e. Bet Philly
New Jersey 2 Phil 2 Buy at 39; Long i.e. Bet New Jersey
New Jersey 3 Phil 2 Sell at 70; No position i.e. No bet
New Jersey 3 Phil 3 Buy at 33; Long i.e. Bet New Jersey

I use the stock terminology and my bet position. My final position on New Jersey lost since it expired at 0 but was more than compensated by the trades during the game.

My profit came from selling at 80 and buying back at 39, buying at 39 and selling at 70, while I lost what I bought at 33.

I must say that trades don't always work out so well.
