OK, I know there are a lot of sports services out there - good, bad and neutral... also a lot of good cappers here. Some might be good in college and bad in the NFL and vice versa.
This is a legitimate question so please answer honestly. Thanks!

If you could get the selections from any "pay" service (regardless of cost) what service(s) would you want for college and which service(s)pro football? Try to keep the list to maybe 3-5 services. Also, no fade services.
Thank you.

Not a service per say but I've had nice returns referring to the Marc Lawrence Playbook Newsletter.

The college picks are good, but the NFL picks are horrible (No matter how good the trends look).

Spanky, any idea where Tom Stryker is monitored?

I've heard his name for years, but cannot recall him being monitored by The Sports Monitor or some of the other legit monitoring services?

Thanks,
Paul

I bought Kevin O'Neill's football service (consumerbet.com) last year after he did so well in '04 (74-34 69% in college and NFL combined. #1 at The Sports Monitor). He ain't cheap--about $1K for both NFL and college. 2005 wasn't so good for Kev--57% in college BUT 22-30-2 in NFL and a losing year overall. To his credit, the guy definitely does his homework and knows his sh*t. Also, I liked the fact he gave his college picks on Friday night instead of Saturday. I'm thinking about getting just his college picks this season ($500-600 cost, I think). Kev seems like a nice and genuine guy--something rare in the sports service business. I will say that after the 50.4% in football in '05, I called him up hoping he'd give me some freebie picks. He told me he didn't practice giving his service away for free. I replied by asking if he had lost any "clients" by charging $1,000 and then having a losing year. He gave me 2 weeks of basketball plays for free... but they went 9 and 13. Anyway, sorry to ramble on. Overall, O'Neill is one of the better services I've dealt with as far as honesty, no sales pressure, and results, but he is far, far from perfect.

O'Neill definitely is a pleasant person

and has had his share of good years.

By comparison, Paul Stone Sports went 100-75 (regular season and bowls) in CFB LY (57 percent) as monitored by The Sports Monitor and finished second overall in gross profit.

In the NFL, Paul Stone Sports went 34-30 (53 percent), making him one of the few handicappers who posted winning records last year in both CFB and NFL.

Total of 239 monitored selections and hit a combined 56 percent.

Combined cost of both is right around $500 for the upcoming season.

Good luck,
Badwater

I see that IgorsPicks.com did 27% for the year.
Now that's hard to do.

I would pay good money to keep this guy in business. Thats equally valuable as a 73% capper---just fade away

Paul, he's monitored by the sports monitor.com under his own name. He went 23-18 in CFB LY. He's been monitored by them for 10 years or more.

A couple of years back, I relied heavily on Lawrence and had a tremendous year in college. I agree that he couldn't hit the side of a barn in the pros, at least in the years that I followed him.

I'll tell you, a little homework and the information on this here website is worth far more than a service.

If you pay for any sports picks you are a fool. They're is no exceptions to that....NONE!!!!!!

If these guys knew more than you they wouldn't need your credit card number. If they knew more than you why would they need 50 or 100 bucks from people? THINK ABOUT IT!!!

They know as much about football as your Aunt does but they know a ton about igh pressure sales and marketing.

Stay away my friend I urge you to and please read these articles about TOUTS

Actually, there are exceptions. Some guys are very good and win consistently. These guys actually make people money. But they are not necessarily the ones who advertise or promote themselves the most. I agree that one should be very wary of those who advertise in magazines and make themselves out to be legends. Some of the most profitable cappers are those who play their own plays, who have a small group of followers, and who most people have probably never heard of.
