I started a spin class on March 2, and have been pleasantly surprised. I never have been into group exercise, but the 50 minute sessions go by very quickly. Music is played the entire time, and every once in a while I am actually familiar with a song. I probably burn around 650 calories every session, depending on my pace.

It's awesome. I took classes years ago, and it was the best workout I have ever had in my life....The gym I belong to now (Anytime Fitness) has the spinning bikes (although, no comparison to the group workouts)!

Whenever I exercise it makes me hungry and I end up eating more calories than I burn.

I have heard this excuse from sedentary people for years. If you get your heart rate maxed out(30+ minutes) your appetite will be depressed. I can't even think of eating after my workouts.

Right after I work out hard I don't want to eat but an hour or two later I'll eat a ton. Nothing wrong with eating a ton if you work the calories off though. My buddy is an MMA fighter and in great shape and eats nothing but pizza and fast food.

That's the best. But it takes a lot of work and good genetics to be that way. The more that machine is built, more fuel it needs.
