Just wanna hear some of your opinions on the matter. If your team was... let's say the Houston Texans--which QB would you rather have (obviously as the last 2 QB's available to you, period... you're grandmother cannot be signed.)

I think both are not starter quality but Rodgers will blossom into one hopefully. He impressed me with some of the passes he made in that first game. His minor setback is not seeing the pressure as often as he should. The boy is still a little sissy in the league though. I can tell that he's gonna end up being hurt pretty quick. *IF* he does stay healthy then I expect decent things from him. He did not even get to use all his weapons on that first day so the more he plays the more we'll get to see how adept this guy will be.

Sorgi--you'll hear it from me over and over--THIS GUY BLOWS! HE SHOULD NOT BE IN THE NFL. It's apparent that some people think he should be but I have no clue what the scouts are doing nor why anyone keeps him on the payroll.

Sage Rosenfels is the shit... he puts all these white boys to shame. Your turn.

Thank God. Can you forsee Rodgers as the future all-time starter for GB? Or what is the timeline you give him before they draft someone else or trade?

I can see him getting hurt this year with the offensive line he has. He better hope GB runs a lot.

With the following GB Schedule... what do you expect their TOTAL wins to be? I'm giving them 7-9... 8-8 TOPS.

Rodgers in a route. Younger, more skilled. Nuff said.

Def rodgers.. we haven't seen enough of him to know if he can be good-great player in this league, but we HAVE seen enough Sorgi in garbage time and preseason to know that he absolutely blows. One knock on Rodgers is he is injury prone, and that won't fly with fans who are used to a qb who will play through anything.

Here is a different question- if the Texans didn't have to worry about the salary it was payin its players, who would you rather see start- Matt Schaub or Sage Rosenfels? I thought Rosenfels looks pretty damn solid in those games at the end of last season.. game against the Bucs comes to mind. They were 4-7 in games Schaub started, 4-1 when Sage started.

Rodgers or Sorgi? Seriously? Rodgers has the skill set to be a future pro bowler and Sorgi is a lifetime backup at best. He's not even a good backup. If he played for any other college team except for Texas Tech he wouldn't even be in the NFL because their style allowed him to put up huge stats and get noticed.

Rodgers will an outstanding QB eventually. Green Bay would be dumb to ever get rid of this guy. Schaub is the QB of the future for Houston though, so I'm not sure where this question is coming from.

With the following GB Schedule... what do you expect their TOTAL wins to be? I'm giving them 7-9... 8-8 TOPS.

I see 8-8.
I cant really imagine them much worse than that due to their weak division. Nor can I imagine them much better with games scheduled against Indy/Dallas/Jacksonville.

6 games against their division, theres 4 victories for the Pack. Add to that, Atlanta, Carolina, Seattle +1 other win and theyre at 8-8

I was just putting out a fictional play. Houston is just what came to mind. I didn't want it to be portrayed as a "REAL" question but rather one to stir our minds about a skill position and what it is that we look in a QB.

Sorgi also came from Wisconsin though, not TT. Schaub is a good QB and you're right Sorgi and Rodgers in the sense of where they are in the NFL. The big problem I fear with Rodgers is his ability to stay healthy. Like I've heard before... GB is used to a guy who's started over 200 games consecutively, this old Joe came in and hurt himself on his first game didn't he? (last year).

I'm from IOWA STATE so Sage is my hero--next to Seneca Wallace >:) Both who did pretty damn good. Sage really has a laser on him that people overlook. I'm wondering why he doesn't really get the job? I have no clue what goes down in Texas. I personally think Sage is pretty damn accurate and can zing that thing as good AND BETTER than any average starting QB. DEFINITELY should put him on the Bears if anything.

Did you say they can beat Seattle this year??? I know you said that just because you know the Hawks are my favorite team. I give them 8-8 as optimistic. They will easily roll the Bears like everyone else will this year but the Vikings have a bunch of talent--they should be favored to win the division by talent alone. Dallas should be underacheiving this year and maybe GB will find a miracle win against one of those aformentioned powerhouses but when GB beat Seattle last year it was a fluke IMO.

Yeah I'm mad about it but also it was weird. Seattle was up and dominating the game Defensively. Suddenly the snow starts to fall and they get outscored on a 30-3 run or whatever it was. It made me sick.

Thanks for all who replied. I brought all this up just to stire the community and get our heads rolling. I know it was off the wall but it does go to show that when it comes to football--EVERYTHING needs to be considered in capping. Not just how much Sorgi blows.

These things absolutely do matter.. playing on the Texans at the end of last season were the sharp plays, especially against Tampa and I remember the night game against the Broncos, the public was highly against Houston, and Sage lead them to public routs both games. Just like Sorgi matters- played a lot of the game against the Titans who were banged up in that last game week 17, and knowing he was gonna play the second half instead of Peyton and how lousy he was going to be against that defense was crucial in cappin it.

I've been impressed with Rogers ever since the game with Dallas where he stepped up big. Hell, he outplayed Favre that game and brought his team back and gave them a chance to win. If he can replicate the success he had that game for an entire season I think the Pack can win their division.

As for Sorgi? Uh.... Colts fans better hope Peyton recovers 100% from his surgery.

I've actually almost ALWAYS bet against Sorgi when I knew he was going to get time in. All I can remember is its over 50% which isn't saying much but I know I bet against him every chance I get lol.

That was pretty damn impressive of him... it was surreal to me at the time.

What prompted this thread?

I mean...really? It's like posing the question, "What's bigger? An planet or its moon?"

The backup for the colts vs. the starter for the Packers. And the Packers starter is younger.

There is no comparison. Rodgers.

There is no comparison, and I agree with you about Rodgers, but the fact of the matter is that there are plenty of backups in the league who are better than the starters that some teams send out, and it is not out of the question when you are talking about a player who has yet to start a game.

#1 My hatred for Sorgi #2 I didn't think Rodgers could ever perform this well in the league either. #3 They were both backups at one time or another >:) It's also preseason so we get to see a lot of these guys get some time in so I just thought it was a fair question just to get our heads rollin.

I actually was wondering how well Sorgi was going to be able to play and was eager to watch him on his first snap ever. I figured that the line he worked with in Wiscy was similar to what they run in Indy--protection. But all I ever come to see is that this kid can't do jack even if you give him 2 minutes to think about it.
