Someone tell me why Maryland is getting $$

I don't understand the line movement here. I took VaTech @ 11 thinking it would move the other way. VaTech has crazy #s on Thursday nights, not to mention Maryland's play this year. I realize Maryland WAS a tough environment to play in, but not this year. Help me see the light.

How did Virginia do @ Maryland this year? Maryland has played good football the last 3 games. They rested a lot of players vs Temple in the rain last Saturday. This is a home dog on national TV with serious revenge on their minds. The crowd will be a factor. Va Tech by 7.

I appreciate the response, but Virginia does not have the Defense that VaTech does. National T.V. I understand, but VaTech will get jacked up for this too. I just don't see this game being close. Maryland shouldn't score much in this game.

MD-VaTech

Beamer and Friedgen are best friends and Beamer beat them unmercifully last year. Their families vacation together as neighbors and Friedgen said the pounding Maryland received never came up in conversation. Although Md. is playing better they do not have the players Beamer has and Tech will win. I teased Tech only because after last years trouncing FB may slow it down this year out of friendship.

Maryland has improved each week under Fridge, who's one of the best coaches in the business. The Terps have athletes on both sides of the ball. They were quickly dismissed after a poor start, but have really built some serious momentum. Fridge has had extra time to prepare for this game(I know Beamer has too), but that should make this game closer than it might've been on any other week. Throw in Thursday night football in what should be an insane environment and you have the recipe for an upset or at least a cover. Remember, Tech should've LOST to NC ST on the road to open the year in a similar atmosphere, and they weren't particularly impressive in beating WVU on the road. I'd put the Terps ahead of both those teams right now, even after the Mountaineers' W over the Cards this past weekend.

I think that's why you see the line moving the other way. I think this will be a close one. Just my opinion, though.

i took maryland cuz...

every year Va Tech starts out super hot...then around this time...they take a dive...This will be a good game...wouldnt surprise me to see this line dip under 10
