I will wait for the 28.5 and if it doesnt come there will be plenty of 28's out there.

Arizona will score at will on the vandals but Idaho should score as well.

I don't think you'll see 28, if anything it goes down, it was set too high to start with.

I figure Zona will light it up all day. Idaho will need at least 3 TD's to get the cover here. That seems like a reach to me, especially since they managed to score more than that just 4 times last year. I have a hard time fading an offensive juggernaut like Zona, even spotting 4 TD's (to a cellar dweller.) Maybe a back door cover here at garbage time. Who knows? Good luck with that play.

I hate to try to talk somebody off a game...But this line isn't going to go down..If anything it's going up. .We're talking about an Idaho team who is picked to finish next to last in a weak conference..And hasn't even beaten a Division 1 team in 16 games. And like last season they still don't have much in the way of any offensive playmakers...So this team is going to have to rely on their defense to stay within the number..Trouble is, their defense lost all of their starting linebackers and have only 4 starters returning on that unit..And they'll be up against an improved Arizona offense with more speed. Other than that I like em.

real quick thoughts behind this play....

Mike Stoops is the type of coach that lets off the gas when he gets a big lead, he doesn't run up the score on his opponetes, so their is your insurance plan if it comes to that...you won't have to worry about that though, becuase idaho will be in this game from begining to end, with a chance to win at the end. Idaho will score often.

Idaho only lost by 28+ twice last year, and that was in their last two games against boise and hawaii by exactly 28, the rest of their games were relativly close, most of them real close....They where very young last year, they are still young, with 11 starters returning on offense, and some playmakers on defense.

Arizona won one game last year by 28, against wash st.

Idaho played @ arizona and only lost by 7 points last year (29-36 score), arizona Did Not get 21 points better than last year, and Idaho got alot better and now have a little more experience under their belt.

Deonte Jackson ran for 1,175 yards last season as a redshirt freshman despite being hobbled halfway through the season with a high-ankle sprain....They have a some what experienced front and a young group of linebackers who saw extensive time last season in backup roles and on special teams.

S Virdell Larkins—The junior college transfer who started his career at Cal is expected to start at free safety and give the Vandals an athletic playmaker across from Keo that could give Idaho the top safety tandem in the WAC.

Trust me, 27.5 is way off, and it shouldn't go up....if it happens to hit 28, it will get knocked back down reaaal quick. :103631605

Here's my write-up and justification for an Arizona play that I made on my website. I bet Arizona at -27.5 for $250. If Tuitama gets hurt before the game, I'm probably screwed, but I liked getting them under 4 TDs:

I was pretty high on Arizona in the preseason last year because I thought with their defense they could have a good year as new offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes looked like the savior to the former stale offense of Arizona. For the first year of a new offensive system, Arizona didn't do too bad. They averaged 28 ppg on the season and Tuitama stayed healthy and looked very good. What I didn't plan on was Arizona's defense not showing up. They were suppose to be one of the top 4 defenses in the conference, but they ended up tying for 6th place defensively in the conference. Several sources in the "know" cited internal problems between players. Whenever the season was all said and done, they went a disappointing 5-7 SU & 6-5 ATS. This year, expectations are very high offensively as 10 starters return in the second year of the offensive system. I think Arizona is really going to put up some points this season. Defensively, the problem elements of last season are gone. While you will not recognize any BIG names on the defensive roster, you will likely see a team playing more unified than they did last year. Plenty of stopping power remains on this side of the ball. Their opener is at home against the weakest team in a weak conference -- Idaho. Idaho allowed 37 ppg last season with an experienced defensive unit. This year, they bring back only 4 starters defensively. Offensively they bring back 10 -- off a unit that only averaged 21 ppg in a weak conference. Stoops' job is in the balance this season and the Wildcats need to get off to a fast start. I don't look for him to call off the hounds in this opener in front of the fans that have some doubt about him and his team.

Nice right up dawg, I felt the same way about arizona the begining of last year as well, and it cost me some money, I probly lost 4 plays betting for arizona, and won 1 play against them. this is the team that gave me the biggest headach all year.

stoops job is defintly in jeopardy, but his defense isn't gonna stop Idaho from scoring 31+,....we gotta agree to disagree on this one, you seem real knowlegable, so I hope we agree on some of my other plays.

Best of luck this season.

Espn is stupid, don't listen to anything they tell you...Idaho can lose by 27, and go 0-12 for all I care.. just as long as they don't lose by 28. :lolBIG:

I predict a close game, With idaho never getting more than 14 points behind.

i love football season :drink:

Now why did I think you would say that?

Did you know that Washington State U. is located in Pullman, WA which is on the border with Idaho and about 100 miles from nowhere. This is a big problem for them trying to recruit young college hopefuls who are looking for adventure. Of all the schools in the Pac-10, WSU has the greatest disadvantage due to its location.

Idaho is the WSU of the WAC... Even Moscow is located just 10 miles from Pullman, WA, both in an area known as the Palouse. It's about 3000-4000 of square miles of semi-arid prairie land with virtually NOTHING but rolling wheat fields and some other Northwest agriculture for miles and miles in all directions. They say watching the asparagus grow is the most exciting thing to do in the Palouse.

In case you are not aware of this, the town of Moscow, Idaho is going through a catharsis regarding their football future since Dennis Erickson snubbed them for ASU a little over a year and a half ago. Their new coach Rob Akey is no superman and people know this now with the Vandals winning just a single game in his debut season (with Dennis Erickson's recruits..) It would take a superhero to drag this team up from the dregs it's been in for years. They joined Div-1A only back in 1997 and they haven't won more than 3 games in a season since 2000 (when they went 5-6.) It would be fairly accurate to point out that their defense gives up about 2 points for every point scored by their offense for a long long time.

I wish you all the points you can possibly find.

real quick thoughts behind this play....

Idaho will score often. Until now Stoops has never really had the offense before to get a big lead...Much less hold one..He also has no excuse to let off here because there won't be any marquee game the next week (Toledo).

Idaho only lost by 28+ twice last year, and that was in their last two games against boise and hawaii by exactly 28, the rest of their games were relativly close, most of them real close....They where very young last year, they are still young, with 11 starters returning on offense, and some playmakers on defense. Idaho was never competetive or in any game against a quality opponent last season..This is what i would be worried about with this team. They were never a threat against quality opponets like Boise or Hawaii. Both of these teams basically toyed with Idaho. As did Washington St. who called it quits at 45 points because they had USC on board the next week...All of these teams had something in common..They all scored a ton of points on Idaho..And all could have been worse. They have 4 starters returning on defense...The proper term for this is "rebuild"

Arizona won one game last year by 28, against wash st. The team that beat Idaho by 17...Let's see...28+17 if you want to play the numbers game.

Idaho played @ arizona and only lost by 7 points last year (29-36 score), arizona Did Not get 21 points better than last year, and Idaho got alot better and now have a little more experience under their belt. Idaho didn't play Arizona last year.

Deonte Jackson ran for 1,175 yards last season as a redshirt freshman despite being hobbled halfway through the season with a high-ankle sprain....They have a some what experienced front and a young group of linebackers who saw extensive time last season in backup roles and on special teams. Idaho will probably score some points. But again, whenever they went up against a halfway quality opponent last season their offensive production went down. And teams like Boise, Hawaii and La Tech weren't exactly defensive juggernauts.

S Virdell Larkins—The junior college transfer who started his career at Cal is expected to start at free safety and give the Vandals an athletic playmaker across from Keo that could give Idaho the top safety tandem in the WAC.
The only real strength of any kind that I saw on this team. They'll be busy making the bulk of the tackles.
