After a brief turnaround, the Trailblazers have reverted back to their poor play on the road
(lost four of six since February 27). Theyre being outscored by an average of 6.0 PPG as road
puppies and the Knicks owe them for a seven-point (81-8 loss in Oregon in which two
Knicks (Charlie Ward and Keith Van Horn-both traded since) went to the foul line the entire
night and took six foul shots. We?re not making this stuff up, folks.
MEMPHIS over *ATLANTA by 7
The Grizzlies played last night, but so what Memphis has the second best record (11-4 ATS)
in the NBA when playing the second of back-to-backers on the road. Memphis had no trouble
defeating Atlanta (103-90) as nine-point chalk on December 10 when Shareef Abdur-
Rahim was still a Hawk and it will be just as easy without him.

*MIAMI over CHICAGO by 16
The Heat posted a pair of win/covers against the Bulls before they began to play winning
basketball and before they were anywhere near being 100% healthy, so it?s unlikely, with a
playoff slot up for grabs, to see anything less than a big effort in game where the W is
theirs for the asking. The Bulls have lost 15 of their last 17 road games (5-12 ATS) since
January 7 losing to some of the worst teams in the NBA (Wahington-twice, Atlanta, the
Clippers, Philadelphia, etc.) in the process.
*HOUSTON over MINNESOTA by 3
Had to like the way the Rockets rallied in the fourth quarter (28-20) to beat the Timberwolves
(112-109) in Minnesota on March 5. Thats a sign of a good team starting to believe in itself
and wins like that should help when its playoff time. Houston has won eight of ten home
games since February 9, yet another indication that Jeff Van Gundy has his team headed in
the right direction.
*SAN ANTONIO over CLEVELAND by 6
The Cavaliers are becoming a hard ?out? on the road where theyve won five of seven (6-1
ATS) since February 22 and 8 of 12 (10-2 ATS) since January 15

I know that recommending backing a big chalk home favorite and laying large lumber is not always the best route to overall consistent winnings during any single wagering campaign, but considering the current diversities between these two teams I definitely feel the number the books are asking us to cover is more than reasonable and makes for an above average wagering proposition.Take the Heat

Atlanta has been much more competitive of late, and they've been downright nasty in this situation all season long. Atlanta is an unheard of 10-3 ATS at home vs. +.500 opposition, and they've won 6 of their L/10 home games SU. Memphis is only 3-2 ATS in back-to-back games on the road this year, and they were a dog in 4 of those 5 contests. This looks to be a major overlay due to their recent play, and we're more than happy grabbing every point being offered.
