Last weeks pick (Tenn- 3.5) went down. Tenn played their worse game of the season as Collins was inconsistent (18-33, 151 YD's, 0 TD's, 1 INT) and did not dictate the game as they usually do. It was somehwta disaapointing to see them go down as they needed that game to lock up the #1 seed in the AFC. Let;'s go back to the drawing board and try to come up with a few morer winners. My record stands at 1-1.
Philly (-5) at Washington...The Eagles come off three consecutive wins against the Cardinals (on Thanksgiving night after McNabb had been benched by Andy Reid the previous game and was ridiculed by a lot of people), Giants (who were coming off back-to-back road wins against Arizona and Washington) and this past Monday night against Cleveland (a weak opponent who they toyed with). In those games Donovan McNabb played well with 7 TD's and 1 INT while trying to prove the naysayers wrong. Now with three wins in his pocket and everyone getting back on the McNabb bandwagon, all the faults are forgotten. They talk about how great he is, what he means to Philly, how his benching by Andy Reid proved to be the solution to straightening out his consistency problems and that Philly would regret letting him go. What people fail to understand is that McNabb has always been a talented QB from a physical aspect as far as arm strength, size and mobility are concerned, but his failure lies in his propensity to throw a pick at the most inopportune time. In simplest terms, when the game is on the line, such as this one for a playoff berth, he is a choker. It is primarily due to him making ther wrong decision at a critical moment where there is enormous pressure. Many times during his career when the game was on the line and the pressure was significant McNabb has flat out failed because of a bad decision and an ill-advised pass which results in an interception. Washington comes off a loss on the road at Cincinnatti, a game that many people expected them to win. Throughout this season this team has shown flashes of brilliance (winning back-to-back raod games against Dallas and Philly earlier in the season) and then moments of inconsistency (losing at home to St. Louis and then losing last week against Cincy). New HC Jim Zorn has provided some improvements such as the development of QB Jason Campbell and at times has been also demonstrated good management of the game and good decisions under pressure. He is still developing in his new role and time and experience will teach him the intricate parts of successful coaching. He hasn't fallen flat on his face, but he has been the next coming of Vince Lombardi either. The Redskins are 7-7, but the fans are unsatisfied as they expected them to make a run in the playoffs. He will improve over time. In come the Eagles needing this game badly as they are trying to catch the Cowboys, Bucs & Falcons for one of the two wild card spots. This is a big game with a lot of pressure on the Eagles. The Skins no longer have any pressure as they are eliminated from playoff contention, but they can play spoiler. Here is the scenario where McNabb feels that pressure and throws a few picks at the most inopportune time. It is the last home game this year for Washington and it is against a division opponent. You can bet that the Skins will be emotionally charged for this game and will give their best shot to knock off the Eagles and send them home for the season. Miser loves company and the Skins willlook to make the Eagleslike miserable. I expect a well played game by Washington and give them a 60% chance of winning this game outright. For now It is Washington +5 oveer the Eagles. I may have another added game before the weekend is up. Good luck to all !
