Record: 1-0

Yesterday's play was also for 2 units but I won't count it to the record because I didn't say so in the post, my apologies.

Both of these played for two units.

English Premiership

Norwich City pk -125 @thegreek.com

Norwich City is hungry to get out of relegation with a great result over Manchester United and a draw against Crystal Palace which should've ended in a Canary win; However, the team has moved past that result. Norwich coach Nigel Worthington warned his team about Newcastle trying to regain their form after crashing out of the UEFA Cup and FA Cup within a week. The Magpies have to worry about injuries to some of their top players while Alan Shearer still remains a scoring threat. Coach Worthington called upon his players to put up a good performance to keep their hopes alive to avoid relegation. He will keep the same formation for this game from the last two games and hopes that the defensive lapses will not happen this time. I rate a Norwich win more probable than a Newcastle one as the Magpies are hurting right now.

Italy Serie A

AC Milan -1.5 -110 @thegreek.com

Milan comes off a tough loss to Siena in a game where they led 1-0, but the Tuscany-based team came back with an equalizer and eventually the game winner in the 86th minute. Well, one word comes to mind to describe this Milan team right now: pissed. I have seen this happen before in soccer. A heavily favored team faulters on a weekend; the next weekend they come out strong and put forth a scoring display. Gamblers are now unsure about Milan but I have faith that they will rebound with a winning performance. 2 goals is asking a lot in soccer, but Milan is put in a great situation to cover this handicap. Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti has his team focused for this match as the point gap between Juventus and Milan has increased to 3. Add to the fact that Chievo are missing striker Federico Cossato and they have to re-arrange their lineup and formation, Milan should be even more motivated for this fixture. Milan needs the help of Inter to pull some magic off against Juventus, but they are focused on grabbing three points from this match.

Good Luck

thanks savant, appreciate it. I really feel good about these plays but you know how unpredictable football can be. I at least tried to narrow down to these two as the best games to play. Sampdoria caught my eye but I know how Parma can show up for the big games. Arsenal+Chelsea, Everton+Man. United are all games worth watching, not putting money on.

It seems like the second halves are a lot more wide open. Let's hope this is the case.

Sure didn't expect Milan to be held scoreless through 60 minutes by Chievo...a bad road team:icon_conf

this is going to be a typical milan finish.. where they will throw everything at chievo within the last 10 minutes and hope for a 1 goal victory. Hopefully we can still get a w or push on norwich.

Wildemu,

What is your opinion on following steam with lines on soccer. There was a lot of steam on Chievo late. It seems steam wins at least 75% of the time on these soccer games.

I don't even know how to obtain information like that. I'm sure knowing that information could be helpful in deciding picks but I'm more disappointed that I had atalanta and sampdoria circled, but pulled the trigger on milan. How did you know about that chievo steam?

finally some luck our way. The Canaries earn 3 points with literally 30 seconds left to play.

1-1. Nothing looks good for tomorrow and friday. Be back Saturday.

Wildemu,

Steam meaning line moves. The vig on on Inter Milan -1.5 moved from -110 to +100. This means money was coming in on Chievo. Chievo covered.

Yeah...it looks like there were two goals in the 90th minute.

Looks like we got a break.

How long have you been handicapping soccer?

I've tried following line moves in the past, sometimes they helped, sometimes it didn't. That usually comes in handy when you see a heavily favored soccer club's line go the other way...in which case, ours. I think the best way to cap soccer is not only follow the line moves, but I do a lot of research on the games before I pull the trigger. I've been burnt before on following late steam or movement, as it clouds up my thinking and the info I had. It also helps to be a fan of these leagues for several years now. As simplistic as it sounds, it's been more of a positive run than a negative one. I don't usually wager on -1.5 teams but I felt Milan really would've won this by 2 goals at least. I hope this answered your question.
