Green Bay getting Rodgers that late, they have to be thrilled...

Also I am happy with the Ravens selection, WR Mark Clayton.

Rodgers was an understandable pick, but the selections in the Second Round are baffling. Very disappointing picks given the needs of the team.

I think the Vikings picks are highly overated and in James case injury prone.

The rumor is they will sign Mark Duper and Nat Moore too...I hear they're pretty cheap these days :suomi:

Two solid bookend tackles now in place here in Rams country. Plus a vastly improved defense thru free agency. Watch out.

Being a Lions fan, I have to disagree with a lot of the early analysis. Just as far as the Central.

Vikings - I'll agree, looked good.

Lions - Love the Williams pick. Possibly the best player in the draft. Their defensive holes aren't as big as everyone claims. They got Cody in the 2nd round which shores up that need.

Bears - Makes no sense to me, Jones did well last year when Grossman was healthy. RB was not their problem.

Packers - Way too many holes on defense. Rodgers may be good for long term, but short term this team did not improve.

Benson is a big upgrade over Jones, Not sure what you have been looking at. Jones also has ben a bust most of his career

Lions fan you have to be a little Biased, your team picks a wide receiver in 1st round 3 years in a row. And they were 3 high 1st rd picks. What does that tell you ? I don't see how you can criticize the bears on upgrading their running game when your doing the same thing over and over with the Wide Receivers

Three best drafts are as follows:

1. Vikings-James,Fox, and Williamson...only weaknesses now are kicker and Tice
2. Cowboys-Spears,Ware, and lb whose name escapes me....can now play 3-4 or 4-3 and have accomplished everything Parcells wanted.
3. Cardinals-got cb in Rolle and rb in Arrington...rest of nfc beware

Three worst:

1. Packers-no help for terrible defense so short term looks bleak which means last year for Farve
2. Bears-should have had Mike Williams and got Bradley in 2nd who is no better than a 4th. Benson is solid but not top priority
3. Broncos...traded #1 pick and drafted in 3rd Clarett. Must believe the entire defensive line they signed from Cleveland is an improvement

Honorable Mention: Seattle-had holes at defensive back and receiver and none drafted early

Agree with your anylsis except for the Bears. Could have had Williams but they made the decision not to take him. Just because Mel Kiper says he is tops on the Board, doesn't mean you as a organization have to take him. I'm not a bears fan, I'm a packer fan, but if I was a bear fan I would be thrilled on the RB upgrade. With that said all of this is specualtion anyway

Detroit, Dallas, Minny and Miami has also done a good job getting Roth and absolutely stealing Crowder. He is a future pro bowler drafted in third round.

While I agree Jones has been a bust for most of his career, here's what I've been looking at.

Grossman was healthy for 3 games last year. In those games, Jones had 66 carries, for 329 yards and 4 TD's. That's an average of 110 yards a game and 1.3 TD's. He also had 15 catches in those games for 116 yards. So in those 3 games, he averaged almost 150 yards from scrimmage and 1 TD. After Grossman's injury he had 2 more games over 100 yards, and only 3 more TD's.

So looking at that, was Jones the problem with their offense? I say no. First Grossman going out, as well as their total lack of production at WR.

I can't judge Jones over 3 games, but I will say this, In my mind whether Jones has finally turned the corner, In the NFl it sure doesn't hurt to stock up on RB's, just because of the Injury factor, and I believe Jones has had his share of Injuries
