So what if Mizzou wins on Saturday?

Who goes to the Nat'l title game?

A Mizzou win would officially knock Oklahoma from a BCS bowl a long with Texas Tech.

How can Texas go to the Nat'l title game when they didn't even win their own conference?

Does USC go?

Or if Florida beats Bama....say 21-20 on a last second FG who's to say Bama doesn't go?

How about Utah?

IMO......I think it would have to be USC.

Then what would the Rose Bowl do? Do they take Oregon St, like they took Illinois last year?

So we would now have .....

Bama/Florida winner vs USC - Nat'l Title Game
Oregon St or who? (Boise St or Utah - sending Ohio St to Fiesta Bowl) vs Penn St - Rose Bowl
Mizzou vs Utah - Fiesta Bowl
Bama/Florida LOSER vs Texas - Sugar Bowl
Cincy vs BC/VT - Orange Bowl

Or....does Texas end up going on to Title game....and USC stay in the Rose????

Let's hope OU wins Saturday......or this thing will only get worse.

CFB is turning into a joke.

if Missouri wins I'd expect USC to play the winner of bama/uf. an Okie loss as 15 point fav would hurt Texas since their big win was, obviously, Okie. If SC were to demolish UCLA they'd be in the "public eye" more recently than Texas so could easily pass them. Only sure thing is the Bama/UF winner plays for the title

Oregon St will not be BCS...they're heading to Sun Bowl

Utah will play the Bama/UF loser in the Sugar Bowl and Cincy will play ACC winner in Orange...pretty sure those are set in stone. No idea what happens to Rose Bowl in that scenario but it won't be Or St

USC is not even close to Texas in the computers and beating pathetic UCLA 100-0 won't do anything to change that. You don't "hand pick" the title game. It goes by the BCS and USC is not jumping Texas. So Texas would be there without winning their conference. There is no rule against it. And USC lost to an average at best Oregon State who dominated them for 60 minutes. Texas lost to a VERY GOOD Texas Tech team on a last second play. Texas beat Oklahoma. USC beat who??????? USC has no beef

yep. texas would be playing florida. the numbers and polls just dont like sc this year for some reason. i'm not a bcs #'s guy but for a team who lost early and was a former #1 they really didnt gain much ground in their last 7 or so wins imo. i'm not a usc hater but i do like watching them play. florida/usc would be a good championship game imo.

"For some reason". Nice! Maybe it has something to do with them beating Stanford, ASU, ND, Ariz, CAl, Wash, Wash St, Ohio St, UCLA, Vagina, etc... Maybe it has something to do with their conference being owned this yr by the mighty Mt West. Maybe it has something to do with losing on national TV for the full 60 minutes to an at the time unranked Oregon State team that finished 3rd in the weak Pac-10 and got beat by 4 TDs by Penn State and lost to Stanford. Maybe people who watched their games weren't impressed with a 7 pt victory over Arizona or Stanford dominating them for a half. I don't know nuthin though.

In Jake's defense...you can only play who's on your schedule...

I am sure Oklahoma had NO IDEA that Cincinnati would be playing (or even whiffing) in a BCS game....

The Pac-10 is horrendous...

The Big 11 isn't much better.....

A nice 4-team playoff would be Bama, Fla, Texas and Okla don't you think?

But we had that..........and Texas beat Oklahoma so I guess a playoff doesn't matter either....

Don't mean to be an Ass hole, but were you in a coma in 2001?

Nebraska lost by 26 at CU. CU won the Big 12 and Nebraska promptly got their heads handed to them.

Not taking it bad at all.......I understand......but my point is shouldn't you win your conference to play for a title? Just an argument is all....

I also recall Oklahoma getting smoked by K-St in the Big XII title game......and still playing for the Nat'l Title too.......it's just wrong.

I agree you should have to win your conference, but the problem is, if they don't have a conference title game, it doesn't then impact Texas.

I agree that Texas deserves the nod over OU, as they beat them, but I think Texas is the better team.

SInce you seem to know about the Big 11 (hence your name) do you realize that either next season or the following season, the Big 11 extends there season beyond Thanksgiving weekend....

It has always been tradition that the Big 11 season concludes before Thanksgiving.....

Precursor to a conference championship game and a 12th team??????

Wait and see.....

Moot point, simply isn't happening. Okl doesn't have to win by 16 1/2 like you or I do, they just have to win....and they will.

Yes, they think that playing the games generally the 3rd weekend of November gives them a disadvantage in bowl games.

The disadvantage in Bowl games (Jim Tressel) is using a 1960's style of play in 2008.

all i'm saying is its definitely clear that the computers dont think much of the pac 10 conference. the question was if mizzou wins who will play bama/fla? i say texas but it wouldnt surprise me if they fanaggled(is that even a fukin word?) the numbers to support usc.

Wouldn't surprise me either seeing as how USC gets a pass on everything (it's as if the Oregon State game was a dream or something and the Reggie Bush scenario..........) and how ESPN is a whore for them. Maybe the computers don't think much of the Pac-10 because they were busy getting whupped by the likes of TCU, Utah, New mexico, BYU, etc... by huge margins.

this game isn't close. OU wins convincingly, another 60 on the board is entirely possible and probable. gl
