Also in terms of flat out ratings this is very bad for baseball
The general public wants to see guys like Mike Trout, Jared Weaver, Albert Pujols, and Josh Hamilton in the world series. Not a bunch of guys they can't name.
got a news flash for you, nobody is huddled around the tv set to see Jared Weaver, Albert Pujols, and Josh Hamilton ...... your dreaming...maybe you're not as informed as you thoughtThat's how informed sports fans see it.
But the general public, the casual fan, those are the people who ONLY watch baseball in the world series. And those people want to see stars

I just want to make sure I have this straight.
You are saying that more would tune in for Kansas City in the world series than Los Angeles correct?
That's how informed sports fans see it.

Definitely Bad.
What makes the baseball playoffs better than, say NBA, is also what makes it bad.
In NBA 2 or 3 teams can win the champtionship.
In MLB literally anyone can win the world series once they get in.
I say that it's a bad thing because it's not exactly fair for the team that was the best over a very long season.
I tell you what's bad for baseball
1. 162 regular season games (should be around 100)
2. 5 games series to determine a winner (should be 7, nba learned that 5 wasn't cutting it.)
3. Allstar game decides home field for the World Series ( should obviously be best record)
4. DH in only one league(should be in both leagues or not at all)
5. Playoffs start during NCAA football and the nfl(if the season was shorter the playoffs would be on during that dead time in the summer)
baseball is a game of numbers and history so I doubt anything will be done
