Millions will be wagered on the Super Bowl over the next two weeks. Last year, $115.9 million was bet on the Super Bowl at Nevada sports books. The books won $3.2 million when the Patriots defeated the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 in the Super Bowl. The books have posted a profit in 24 of the past 26 Super Bowls.

Since Nevada Gaming Control began tracking betting action on the Super Bowl in 1991, the books are up $134.2 million. Their only losses came in 2008, when the New York Giants upset the Patriots, and in 1995, when the San Francisco 49ers routed the San Diego Chargers.
The favored team has won 32 of 49 Super Bowls.

If it was just based on the game spread they would have to take more losses when favs covered or a big dog ML hit. But there are so many props at -115, -120, people laying -110 on a coin flip, parlays, teasers etc that just adds up.

Still a little surprised they didn't lose $ when Pitt beat Seattle. Seattle had like 19 fans then.

They won on the Giants if you count all the futures on the Patriots that lost on that game

well if the panthers win, by 4, 5, or 6 they are going to lose big.
if the panthers win by more than 6, likely the books will lose for the 3rd time

I'm assuming that has to include all the crazy prop bets. If not, then Denver plus the points is a no brainer since everybody is on the panters

Cam Newton can't win a Super Bowl. It's bad for business especially when it would be over Peyton Manning in his last game.

Sometimes you can't tell what the books need...the top tier books speed through the number and maybe they don't have many wagers on 4.5, 5, and 6....so maybe a minimal loss...but make no mistake about it, they will lose....a few 6s have popped up. And I think they disappear by next weekend...write enough volume and the juice will kick in...
