Jets want to give him $7-$8 Mil a year .... But it is said, he wants TWICE that amount .

Guy is what, 33 years old ?

Yes he had a Very good season last year .... But it's probably because he fit well with the Jets
If he goes elsewhere ... he just might be back to his Old stats ...

Anyway, How much is Fitz worth ? per Year

so they should give him $11 Mil per year for 3 years ? so he will be 37 in the middle of his 3rd year ??

IMHO, $7-$8 Mil is More than fair
or maybe 2 years @ $10 mil per

Let's hope they agree on a reasonable 2 year deal and Petty is good to go after that.
I wouldn't go three either.

The guy has played for 6 teams....He finally had a good year in his 11th season.

This guy is nothing special.....Nobody will give him top dollar.

He has had his best years under Gailey's tutelage including this past season. Considering what others who one can argue are not as good as he or at the same level have got, he is correct in wanting a better deal. Anything under $10M per is an insult based on the market conditions. This is his last chance to get a big deal so why not do so.

He's a hell of a lot better than Assweiler so why not ask for Assweiler money?

We do not have enough of a sample to say for a fact that is true. Brock needs at least 2 or 3 full seasons to see what he truly is like running a team.

Well sure, you're right but if your Fitzy and you're a proven vet that threw for 30 TDs last year, why in the world would you let an unproven kid get more money than you?

Oh I agree with you 100% on him going for a big payday as the market is there & he is proven under Gailey vs the potential of Brock.

Uh well, he had a great year last year throwing for 3,905 yards, 31 TDs and 15 picks. Everywhere he's gone, he's performed.

Assweiler hasn't done shit yet. What do you mean how is he better?

So if you could choose one you would take fitz?

So between those two you would take Brock

But fitz is worth more than brock?

I wouldn't take Assweiler over anyone.

But, if you're R. Fitzpatrick and you're sitting there with the year you just had, why would you think you shouldn't be able to get as much as Assweiler?
