“From the beginning of his time in the White House [President Obama] has said, before he went into office, ‘I’m going to end the war in Iraq’ – he did that . . . and al Qaeda is decimated. ‘I’m going to restore our place in the world’ — he’s done that. That’s how people are going to look at and evaluate the President’s record.” — Jen Psaki, State Department spokeswoman, September 27, 2012

“When President Obama took office, the Iraq War had been going on for years and he had campaigned with a promised to end that war, and he has done that. He kept his promise to refocus the mission in Afghanistan to take a fight to al-Qaeda in the AfPak region as well as around the world, and I think you know the results of that.” — Jay Carney, White House spokesman, October 1, 2012

“If you look [Mitt Romney’s] record . . . he has opposed ending the war in Iraq, unlike the president’s position and president’s record on that, saying that he would have kept as many 30,000 troops there indefinitely. He’s had an incoherent record and vision on al-Qaeda.” Jen Psaki, October 1 2012

“What I would not have done is left 10,000 troops in Iraq [as Candidate Romney proposed], that would tie us down. That certainly would not help us in the Middle East.” — President Obama, October 22, 2012

“Gov. Romney said it was ‘tragic’ to end the war in Iraq. I disagree. I think it was the right thing to do.”—President Obama— Barack Obama (@BarackObama) October 9, 2012

Mission Accomplished to the least prepared man in the room:

Those who do not heed history are doomed to repeat it.

August 1990 Iraq invades Kuwait. Bush the elder throws the Iraq forces out of Kuwait but stops short of dethroning Saddam.

Thirteen years later March 2003 Bush the younger overthrows Saddam and tries to create a Democracy.

Eight years later December 2011 Obama ends the war in Iraq.

Three years later June 2014 ISIS is poised to take control of Iraq.

24 years of dicking around in Iraq and what do we have to show for it.

Absolutely nothing.

‘Obama in a Pants Suit’ agrees with Obama: No airstrikes at this time to help Iraq

Posted on Jun 13, 2014 at 12:59 PM in Politics | 2 Comments

By The Right Scoop

Hillary is siding with the president, basically telling Iraq this is their problem to deal with and that we should send no airstrikes to help:

CNN – Hillary Clinton said the United States should not provide military assistance – particularly airstrikes – to the Iraqi government “at this time” in response to the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria and other militants.

Clinton, whose support of the 2002 Iraq War Resolution has hung with her for more than a decade, told the BBC on Thursday that she agreed with the White House’s “rejection and reluctance to do the kind of military activities” that the Iraqi government is asking for.

“That is not a role for the United States,” Clinton said. “There needs to be a number of steps that [Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al] Maliki and his government must take to demonstrate that he is committed to an inclusive Iraq, something he has not done up to date.”

Clinton also said that the Iraqi Army – “which has not been able to hold territory” – needs “an injection of discipline and professionalism” before any help could be considered.

Obama has to decide if he wants to defeat terrorism or not.

Bin Laden may be dead but al Qaeda if far from decimated.

If he wants to defeat terrorism now would be a good time to lay waste the to ISIS in Iraq. Scramble as maybe jets as needed and take out everything in sight starting outside Bagdad and don’t stop till you hit the Turkish border.
