Place: Fogoncito (San Pedro)
Dish: Grilled Chicken in Mushroom Sauce
Extra: comes with a Azteca Soup

Score: 8.7

Note: the Soup is a killing one, I would give just the soup a 9.25 /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

"Tiquicia", Escazu

Great aptmosphere, open air construction and killer view of the entire central valley. The "Tabla" is a must, all types of meat including chicharron and three types of picadillo. Not quite gourmet but classic tico at its best. I give the food here a 9.

Hey Gringo, nice recomendation I have been there and the view is just great, plus on the weekend nights the bar gets pretty cool and packed....nice guirls who wanna have fun.

the only negative issue is the drive there, damed that hill! fix the road for crying out load.

Mr. Shady, knowing you as well as i do, i am not quite sure why you have this sudden fascination with food and why you think that maybe you are a person that knows the difference between good and bad culinary treats.......
Banco de Mariscos one of my choices and i don't really like seafood that much, but as fat as i am i DO know good food.
P.S
egg foo young is NOT one of the the culinary masterpieces in this world!!!! Glad to see you happy in your new position. me, EGG

Hahaha....well Egg..alot has changed man, alot has changed. One of my loves in life nowadays is 'Food'. I am even learning how to cook and I say 'learning' because you can never learn it all but yes, I have developed an accute sixth sense for all that is culinary. Thus, I have started my own little culinary corner. Kind of like 'The Essence of Slim'. So yes, I am now an authority in all that is culinary in the making. LOL /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

And I'll be rating all the munchies around here from now own. Let's go out for lunch one of these days. /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

This isn't fine dining or anything but the other day I went to Mil Sabores on Paseo Colon. For the price, I must say I was pretty impressed.

I had a Johnny Walker red before the meal, my girl ordered a non-alcoholic Piña Coloda, I had some kind of beef tips with vegetables in a spicy sauce (zhez-wan, or something please excuse my ignorance on chinese food), my girl had the chop suey of the house, both plates were nice with fresh vegetable, nice meats and pleasant sauce. With dinner I had a glass of Concha y Toro tinto.

As I say I realize this isn't fine dining but the bill totaled to less than c7,000, seemed damn cheap to me.

PS: Gringo,...el banco de los mariscos aint no 10(maybe a 7).
Try el Balcon de los Mariscos in Curridabat.

L'Olivia's (behind the Subway/ICE on La Sabana)

Best Italian in the country (better rib eye than Tex-Mex Judge). The veal chop and all the pastas are great.

10 stars all the way!

El Invendiero (past Samurai..not sure on spelling)) Best Lamb Chops in the Country!! Incredible Seafood soup.

Also gets 10 Stars!
