Although I didn't specifically address this situation in the rules, I feel I need to nip this in the bud now, as it would, in effect, give you an alternate pick based on a situation that undoubtedly would not be known until after the 1st race deadline. I have given everyone the opportunity to make changes if one of their horses was scratched, as long as the change is made prior to 12:59 ET. So basically, you need to decide which situation will most likely prevail before the deadline and place your bets accordingly. If an announcement is made that your particular race is coming off the turf before the 1st race deadline, you are welcome to make a change at that time. If after the deadline, your plays stand. At this point, I will accept your first 3 plays.
