The Saratoga $3600
Handicapping Contest

We would like to thank Skybook Sportsbook and G. Money for once again sponsoring this contest as they did last year. Poster Drunken Horseplayer is the defending champion. This year, the winner will receive a $125 Match Play (5X Rollover) compliments of Skybook and once again poster G. Money is donating a nice new Polo Golf Shirt. On top of that, there is a possibility of an added prize from another source yet to be determined.

Anyone is eligible to enter at any time during the meet. You must have an Skybook Acct to participate however, but you can fund it at your own discretion. In other words it's free to play - just have a Skybook account opened before you start play.

Once you have opened your Skybook acct, send an email to SportSavant with the following info:

To: sportsavant@therx.com
CC: sportsavant@gmail.com
Subject line: Saratoga Skybook
Body of email:

• Poster name: _______
• Skybook account number: _______

Follow this up with a post in this thread to indicate you are IN !!

Your starting balance will be $100 X the number of days left in the meet based on the day you enter.

On opening day (7/23), the starting bankroll will be $3600 and will be reduced by $100 each day thereafter.

The Saratoga meet consists of 36 racing days, running from July 23 thru Sept 1, dark on Tuesdays.

The object is to run up your starting bankroll as much as possible. If you bust, you're done. The contestant with the most money at the end of the meet wins.

You are allowed no more than 3 wagers per day, not per race - per day!

Only ONE POST per day and it must be made 1 minute prior to the 1st race post time (most days that will be 12:59 ET). Any additional posts will be no action. All wagers placed after the deadline will also be no action.

Wagers will only be accepted on WIN, PLACE, EXACTAS and TRIFECTAS as long as they are offered on track.

A wager on a 2-horse exacta box constitutes 2 wagers, not 1, leaving you with 1 additional play.

A wager on a horse to WP is 2 wagers.

Only straight trifectas are allowed. No boxing horses in trifectas.

Your post must show the race #, amount of bet, type of bet and horse program #:
Example: Race 5 - $100 Win 4.

I will grade by program #, not name of horse. If you type the horse's name and the program # and they don't match, the program # will take priority when grading.

There is a minimum of $100 in total wagers per day. If your starting balance is less than $100, you must wager it all that day. There is no maximum per bet but you must have enough in your account to cover all wagers.

You must make at least one wager per day. If you fail to place a wager, penalties will be assessed as follows:

  1. If your starting balance is ≤ $100, the full amount will be deducted from your account and you are disqualified.
  2. If your starting balance is > $100 but ≤ the new player starting balance, $100 will be deducted from your bankroll for that day.
  3. If your starting balance is > the new player starting balance, the deduction will be your balance divided by the # days left in the meet.
Scratched Horses:

Win/Place: A refund will be issued for all parts of your wager involving a scratched horse. Wager will count as a play made.

Exacta/Trifecta: Bets that contain a scratched horse will have the scratched portion refunded. Wager will count as a play made.

Entry Rules:

If you wager on a horse that is coupled with one or more horses, your wager includes all horses under the said number. If one of your entries is scratched but another horse runs, your wager has action. As long as one of the coupled horses runs, all entry wagers have action.

I will start a separate thread for each days wagers.

Good luck to all.

? JOH your rules but a two horse quinella wager is one bet where a two horse exacta box is two bets. A $2 Q costs $2 were a $2 ex box costs $4 Thanks for putting this up either way is fine.

What am I thinking. You're right Brock. To eliminate confusion, I am taking Quinellas right out of the equation. No Quinella Betting. Change made above. Thanks.

What is a Match Play? A match play is a Bonus Play, or a risk-free wager, where the customer risks $0 to win whatever the wager payoff should be.

What can you use them on? Match (free) plays can only be used to wager on Sports over the Internet. They cannot be used to place IF WAGERS, or Futures and Props.

What happens if your Bonus Play wager wins? Once your Bonus Play wager is graded, the "winnings" will be accredited to your real money balance.

How do you use a Bonus Play? To use your Bonus Play balance, simply check the option "Use Bonus Play Funds" when entering the risk amount of your wager.

Not interested at all. I'd be far more likely to sign up with them if they actually had some innovative betting options for horseplayers rather than just another vanilla tote racebook.

they are very innovative

HELL they invented the free 1/2 point in football games for on line betting. (not on or off the 3 or 7)

also for basketball they invented the free 1/2 point -- but the lost so much money doing that now its only once a week. this is a must have out.

Did you miss the word horseplayers? Did they invent the free 1/2 length in matchups? No, because they dont even offer matchups never mind being innovative.
