How you first ventured into the world of Offshore? Nothing lengthy, just a little history, just curious.

I seriously believe SLIM believes this and takes it personally when ANYONE (not just people playing at his book) claim they have a winning year...I be;lieve SLIM thinks no one wins...I also believe FISH thinks the exact opposite....remember this too, those that may have bet all favorites and overs when they first broke in should be improving and should get better each year, atleast technically....IMO plenty of Rxers are making nice money gambling.

Journey, Fish...the original post that started this "no win" discussion was this.

"Intruder, I dont think any one way or style of betting will win in the longrun....If you play for an extended period of time you will go down, period. You can be as sharp as you want, if you do it long enough, you're going to end up losing. You're only a sharp player if you take your winnings and go home..Fortunately thats next to impossible.....

Time is the deciding factor in gambling, you can be up a week, a month or years but it really takes it toll when it happens...

One day 100% of the games go under, the next 100% go over.....nothing will ever change that..."

That was in response to Intruders question during Journeys sitdown with me. I find it funny that its been played around with so much but that what I posted. I do believe that if you give it enough time, if you bet enough, you will go down. You're only sharp if you pick up and take your winnings and disappear.

By the way, there are several new guys around here you should have a sitdown with Jay, everyone has always enjoyed those....not a bad idea....

The Sitdowns were fun, i haven't seen anyone though...

Slim, I disagree, but I realize you have seen alot more than i have in your position...i DO AGREE that if you play ALL THE TIME, it will wear most down, I don't know how anyone does that all year round...I say pick your spots, get out with winnings and take time away...pick and choose, I don't think many people can leave when they're up big though...

This has got to be the most uninformed post I have ever read.

Evidenty they have alot of people that havent been around gambling for along time, because I know guys thats been winning for over 20yrs, I guess they just got lucky for 20yrs betting. so many people out there that bets and never had a honest job in life. the reason I said honest job is because they are pure stealing. just remember this short phrase when you beat the line you beat the game. why is it so hard for so many people to comprehend that. sometimes I wonder how so many people can really believe that nobody wins betting. I have seen it all when it comes to gambling, 33yrs worth.

I"m defintely not here to IMPRESS nobody but myself. I just dont want all these people to really believe that you cant win betting. I guess alot of people havent been in the business long enough to realize that. DONT FORGET WHEN YOU BEAT THE LINE YOU BEAT THE GAME IN EVERY SPORT.

Slim,

When you are someone like BW, I know for a FACT that it is possible to WIN in the long run at SPORTS BETTING.

It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that when BW lays 2 minus 05 on a game, and it inevitably closes at 3 1/2, he has a SIGNIFICANT advantage over any sports book in the world...

If you don't believe it, I also can arrange for him to bet into any book you wish...

Bigbet,

I first got a computer in 1995 and didn't even know how to turn it on. When someone showed me, I played around on AOL for awhile, thinking AOL was the internet.

Later that same year, while surfing the REAL internet, I noticed a couple of online casinos and sports books. I thought that was kewl since I always had a passion for gambling...

The following year, I attended THE FIRST SYMPOSIUM on INTERNET GAMBLING AND THE LAW in which Jay Cohen was one of the featured speakers. This was a 2-3 day conference in Washington D.C. What REALLY caught my eyes were the number of 20-30 year olds that were speaking. They were ALL MILLIONAIRES and I just couldn't believe they had accomplished so much in such a short time. Pardon the expression, but I REALLY wanted to be like them...

I remember cornering a couple of them down and asking a million questions, since I wanted to enter this field. They were more than willing to share some "pearls" with me and I listened to and soaked up every word that they said...

When I refected on everything I had heard, I realized it was too risky for my blood to open up my own sports book offshore, but I reaized that they ALL needed an advertising medium online, since there was really NONE out there at the time, compared to the plethora of casinos and sports books...

Immediately when I came back to Virginia, I focused on developing The Prescription into an advertising venue that they would HAVE to ADVERTISE on...

Since I was fortunate enough to be amongst the FIRST pioneer to do this, I reaped the benefits and in particular, I travelled all over the world to SEE these places FIRSTHAND and report back what I had witnessed since virtually nobody else was doing this...

I made tons of mistakes along the way, but I believe I learned from them and the rest is history....
