hint...(you can't)

The Cardinals have won Pineiro's last 10 starts and 11 of the last 12. The right-hander is 7-0 with a 2.65 ERA in 10 outings since July 3, and walked none for the 13th start while striking out five.
13-9, 3.11 ERA (good for 11th in NL)

For the 12th straight start, Wainwright allowed two runs or less. That's the second best such streak by a Cardinals pitcher in the last 55 years. Adam Wainright became the National League's first 15-game winner. He also took the team lead, at least for a few days. The right-hander worked six or more innings for the 25th straight start, the most since Carpenter did it 28 straight times in 2005 (cy young winner that year).
15-7, 2.50 ERA (good for 4th in NL)

Chris Carpenter is 9-0 in his last 10 starts. His nine-game win streak is the longest in the major leagues this season. He takes the ball tomorrow v. the Astros. Carpenter allowed just one runner to reach second base and lowered his major league-best ERA to 2.16. In his last 10 starts, Carpenter is 9-0 with a 1.92 ERA.
14-3, 2.16 ERA (BEST in MLB)

The Cardinals are 27-3 since July 3 in games started by their top three starters -- Wainwright, Carpenter and Joel Pineiro

I won't get started on their bullpen.

Jurrjens: 10 wins, 2.91 ERA
Vazquez: 10 wins, 3.14 ERA
Lowe: 12 wins, 4.48 ERA

Lowe's ERA was like 3.4 until his last 2 starts went to crap.

White Sox definitely in consideration with Peavy, Buehrle, and Danks or Floyd. White Sox with a healthy Peavy are dangerous.

We both know Piniero won't keep it up. Carpenter and Wainwright are studs though.

That's a nice stat and all since July 3rd but you have to remember the mighty offenses the Cards have faced since then.

Of the top 8 scoring offenses in the game today, the Cardinals have faced 1 in July and August. That's almost two months and they've only had the four games against the Phillies. They are pitching well because they are going against teams who don't score. Piniero will regress big time. Only slightly for the other two.

these are the comments that make me laugh my ass off. sorry but...well, no i'm not.

NEXT!

Read the post right above yours and it should help explain why Piniero's ERA went from 3.97 to 3.15 since June 7th. It's because the best offense he's faced since then has been the Colorado Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies once each. Every other team has been out of the top 7 scoring offenses.

Every offense he's faced this entire month has been in the bottom 8 of scoring offenses.

He has pitched exactly one game all season against a top 5 scoring offense and that was the #5 scoring offense in the Phillies.

PS, and yes I know he's an NL player. I can twist my stats however I see fit. Haha.

The teams he's faced the most:

Pittsburgh twice: fourth to last in runs scored
San Diego twice: last in runs scored
Mets 3x: 8th to last in runs scored
Arizona twice: 10 to last in runs scored

Fact.

There was a reason he's been average at best in every MLB season before this. This is the same guy who had a 5.15 ERA last season.
