I totally agree with the cowher reply. besides being overpaid (2+mil/yr) he was handed a super bowl team in a weak division and could not win.

Well, I am from the Detroit area and I say put Batch in. Before you all start shaking your head in disbelievement think about this. Batch has a better arm then Maddox, has started more games in the NFL than Maddox, has never had the talent around him that Maddox has, and he isn't flat out retarded and he wasn't railroaded out of the NFL for a reason. I would love nothing more then for them to put Batch in and watch him become successful. For years I was screaming that he really isn't that bad ( no Montana) but because he had a crap team he looked awful. Before they lost Barry though and Herman Moore was still decent he put up respectable numbers. With Ward and Burress I think he can succeed. Starting at Mile High is tough on anyone though. Maddox is not that good, just like Kordell wasn't. It is the system and I want Batch to prove that right badly.
Maddox was good last year because he came out of nowhere and there was an element of surprise as to his abilities. Now, his flaws have been captured on game film by any decent defensive coordinator and Maddox lacks the talent to overcome and his inexperience really shows. No question he should have been benched after the INT for a touchdown in the debacle of the Browns game.
Batch should play no question. He gives them a better chance to win and after Maddox's continued pattern of poor decisions, how can anyone say he should remain the starter. If Maddox continues to start, it will be because of Cowher's ego.

Pittsburgh`s offensive line is horrendus, I am not sticking up for maddox but that is where the problems all start. I listened to Mark Madden`s talk show tonight and he had ed Bouchette the steelers #1 beat writer on. he said to look for bettis to start this week and also for bruener to possibly start to help the pathetic offensive line.
